Less than 30% think Republican congress will be more productive

Will Republican congress be more productive?

  • Yes

    Votes: 0 0.0%

  • Total voters
    9
  • Poll closed .
In the past, the Republicans have voted against any legislation that would result in or address in any way, jobs, economy, immigration, vets' jobs, vets on food stamps, vets' housing, the elderly, etc etc etc etc.

I recently wrote my own R senator and got a letter back that said he had voted on naming a frikken bridge.

So far, not one RW has said they do believe the Republican congress will be more productive. No, not obstruct as Todd Patriot said but actually doing their job.

Very telling that no one has voted "yes" in the poll. Is this what we expect from the Repubs?

C'mon, surely you on the right can say what you expect the Republican majority to actually accomplish ... ?

Well, that ought to tell you something.....most conservatives here are hoping that we get the same from the Republicans in Congress....which is nothing......that's their MO!

If it don't help the rich get richer.....ain't gonna happen........:D

Stopping Obama's idiocy is not nothing.
And passing a bunch of new regulations and new spending is not being productive.

Define productive.

I would think beneficial to the country and not just to the 1% is a good definition of productive when it comes to Congress.

So we agree, sealing the border and deporting 10 million or so illegals would be productive.

I'm not sure that it would be beneficial to the country.....most Americans won't do some of the jobs some of these people are willing to do.....and for so little. I'm sure many rich think they are beneficial, too, help made them rich.

Tough. Screw the rich. Deport their illegal, cheap labor. Immediamente!

Except the rich have enough money to tough it through.....so in the end, the middle class will be the ones that end up being screwed.

Of course they do. That's why anything that raises taxes on the rich, never truly does. They are the ones who ultimately write the tax code, thus they write it in a way that favors them. The politicians flap their gums and claim that they are for the middle class, but every law they have passed in the last 50 years has harmed the middle class. If the politicians ever could get together and write a law that taxes the super rich at a super high level, the rich will move out. That's what they do.

The Repubs will no doubt continue on in the long tradition of screwing the middle class and the world will continue twirling along and the poor will continue to get even more poor.

And all the while it was the Democrat Reid who was holding everything up. Why do you not mention that ole luddy? A little bit of honesty go's a lot further than your constant silliness.

Completely off-topic. The vomitous drivel you wrote has nothing to do with the poll being discussed at the link in the OP. Instead of attacking a member, learn to read like the rest of the adults in the room.

I commented very specifically on the polling information from the OP in a posting above this one.

No, it's not off topic. It was part and parcel of the "unproductive Congress" that the progressives loved to trot out and scream "see, the Repubs are evil!" It wasn't one sided at all. It was very much a two party problem, with BOTH parties being equal opportunity idiots.

And you never fail to disappoint. I must say.

That's not at all what this thread is about and instead of trying so hard to derail the thread, could you please say if you believe the Repub majority will be more productive?

Thank you.
It's totally fun to watch exactly who has been trolling this thread like a real pro. Fascinating.

One of the key reasons why Reid held up the vast majority of things is because the GOP placed poison pills in them to kill Obamacare, among other things.

Oh, and any person who thinks Obama caused the shutdown needs to get his head examined.

Just like when Congress shut down and Obama pissed a hissy fit and SPENT money to close down Parks that were normally open 24/7. They did it because they are assholes, not because it was the right thing to do.

That is a gross distortion of what actually happened.
Yepp. It's a lie.

I never said he caused the shutdown silly person. I said that in a hissy fit because of the shutdown he spent money closing memorials that are open 24/7 just to be an asshole. That's what I said. I find it amusing that you consistently don't understand what is being said. Or is that just willful?

Really? That asshole closed memorials all over the globe. I had a friend who was on his last cruise (he died a month after getting back) who wished to visit the memorial on Iwo Jima (where he had fought during the war, and he was denied along with everyone else. It is a 24/7 memorial that Obama closed at an expense of over 100,000 dollars, just to show he was the "BIG MAN".

"A group of 92 Mississippi Gulf Coast Honor Flight Veterans refused to let a government shutdown stop them from entering the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C., this morning.

Though the memorial was technically closed due to the government shutdown that went into effect early this morning, they managed to enter the memorial and tour the site.

Reps. Steve King, R-Iowa, and Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., said in interviews that the gates were opened for the veterans to access the memorial.

The vets were taking part in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Honor Flight that was originally established in 2011 to help fly the state's WWII veterans to Washington D.C., free of charge, and provide tours so that they may see the memorials dedicated to honor their service."

I don't want congress to be productive.

The more congress "produces" the more it costs the taxpayer

Either the wages will be increased to the point where Americans do it, automation will be developed to do it, or we will come up with some sort of guest worker program where people can follow the law, come here to work and then go home.

Well, I know in my area, illegals mostly cost the public schools, cost the local hospitals, cost the criminal justice system.
They also drive down wages for unskilled Americans and therefore drive up the costs of our welfare system.
I mow my own lawn, so I don't see much benefit. How much do they benefit you?

They benefit me in that I am able to get vegetables and fruit at the local grocery store at a reasonable price....you do know that they do pay taxes, so I don't see how they cost the public schools.....also, they are not able to get Obamacare.....

You still haven't provided any backup to your beliefs....so how do you even know that is happening? It's probably just Republican/conservative mythology.

I wonder how long farmers in Alabama are going to support their Republican leaders, considering their recent action?

The picking of blueberries, tomatoes and squash largely requires hand labor, McMillan said Monday, and the work is no longer getting done.

McMillan said he recently visited a farmer who has 75 acres of squash in north Jackson County.

"It was just rotting in the fields because he had half the labor," McMillan told The Huntsville Times editorial board. "That's a fact. What I'm telling you is what I've seen."

In June, the new Republican majority in Montgomery passed a sweeping 72-page act that is widely considered the toughest crackdown on illegal immigration in the country. The act not only allows local police to detain people suspected of being in the country illegally, the law also makes it a crime for illegal immigrants to look for work in Alabama.
