I think that is a lot of the reason the district ruled the way they did. Funding is based on attendance and if the child isn't in school, the school doesn't get funding.

Maybe. But it seems to me that the teachers' unions and probably the teachers and administration in 'woke' schools have zero understanding that the only just laws are applied equally across the board without regard to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion etc. Those enforcing rules/regulation/law can use common sense to take circumstances into consideration, but even there who the person is should not matter.

But then the 'woke' left simply seems unable to understand how their point of view and attitudes on this stuff are promoting and perpetuating racism, sexism and all the other 'isms and phobias applied to situations involving race/gender/ethnicity/sexual orientation etc.
