France is still operating under an extended state of the emergency declared in Nov. 2015, which gives the President extraordinary powers such as administrative detention without any judicial oversight and there is no significant popular opposition to it. For many French, this fear will translate into support for Le Pen despite misgivings they may have some of her statements.
