The Left likes to promote the myth that Latino Americans are all leftist and with increasing Latino population the Republicans are done! They like to say the Latino vote blue to the tone of 95% just like Blacks and Jews do! They try to point to Obama getting 60% of the Latino Population as proof of this. But these myths are FALSE.
First, it's the racist DEMOCRATIC policies that lumps all Latinos into one group. Mexicans, Cuban, Puerto Ricans, Domicans, Argentinian, Chilians, Salvadorian etc are all VERY different. Ask any New Yorker, Puerto Ricans and Mexicans don't get along. A Puerto Rican in the American Southwest would fear the day of being in the new Mexican dominated nation of Aztlan. Heck see Puerto Rico's government right now they are DOMINATED by the conservative pro-becoming part of the Union Progressive Party (ironic the conservative party calls itself Progressive). The dangerous gang, MS-13, was formed by Salvadorians to combat the Mexican gangs. The Mexican Mafia doesn't include all Latinos, it include MEXICANS! Cuba American are very conservative! Lumping them together like the left has done is IGNORANT!
Second, the "all Latinos vote the same" claim is ignorant. Just like white of different states, Latinos of different states vote similar ways. Latinos in CA vote different latinos in TX and FL.
The 3/4 of the Latino population are in 8 states, with a 30% in one state (CA). Those states are CA, FL, IL, NJ, NY, TX, FL, AZ and NM (NM has a smaller number than other states but has the first Latino majority). CA, IL, NY & NJ are large blue states. The overall population in these states vote blue, so do the Latinos in these states. These states make up 42% of the Latino Population. That is why you see the overall Latinos population vote blue.
HOWEVER, if you take the states with the 2nd (TX) and 3rd (FL) Latino population you see the Latinos vote not going blue. Rather in many cases overwelming RED!
See this daily kos article (if it points conservative in Daily Kos then you know its true) on Texas Latinos! It's surprised me on these results. People ignorantly think that Texas will turn blue, because their Latino population is growing. The Elitest liberals in NY, NJ, CA or IL can't understand why the Latinos in Texas would vote red (I mean Latinos like a strong economy with job growth also, no?), nevertheless in Texas they do it regularly! Latino Americans have a lot of Texas pride!
Now FLORIDA, where more than half of the Latino Population is composed of Cuban American and they overwelmingly vote Red. If it wasn't for the Jews of Florida (the other swing vote), FL would go Red every year. Damn liberal Jews.
Third, the liberals want to point out 60% voted for Obama in 2008! Word to stupid it was a DEMOCRATIC year. Iraq War was unpopular with everyone, the stock market crashed, the economy was in recession and the economy in general took a nose-dive right before the election. Every segment went blue, so why shouldn't we expect Latino Americans to go blue? And in a very democratic year, McCain still got 40% of the Latino vote. 60% of the vote is a great win, but the libtards try to make it sound like 100%. Think of it this way, 4 out of every 10 Latinos voted red. If this was school, Obama would have gotten a D- with only 60%!
Fourth, take the state with the ONLY Latino majority in America, New Mexico. It's a red state. True in 2008 it broke blue, but came back to Red in 2010 by voting in the First Latina American Governor (a Conservative Republican). The Latinos in this state usually vote Red! Arizona Latinos generally vote blue, but it more along the lines of 60-40! Not as big a victory as the libs want you to believe.

Daily Kos: Texas Hispanic Vote
The key point: The row of TX counties that border the OK/TX Panhandle have a large share of Hispanics by population, yet are very Republican. That inconsistency caught my attention. It makes me wonder if the GOP could possibly create a VRA district in that part of TX that is still heavily Republican.
The OK/TX Pandhandle region is perhaps the most conservative in the country. While the area elected Democrats perhaps as late as the 1980s and early 1990s, Republican presidential candidates had dominated the area since the 1950s. After 1994 the region turned dark, dark red. And it hasn't been friendly to the Democrats all.
I am focusing on that row of N. Texas counties. They are Lipscomb, Ochiltree, Hansford, Sherman, and Dallam. Hispanic population ranges from around 30-43% of the population in those counties.
Here are the results from the 2008 presidential election in those counties:
Lipscomb: McCain: 1,093 87.02%; Obama: 155 12.34%
Ochiltree: McCain: 2,851 91.70%; Obama: 243 7.82%
Hansford: McCain 1,847 87.87%;. Obama 240 11.42%
Sherman: McCain 884 86.67%; Obama 127 12.45%
Dallam: McCain 1,269 79.86% Obama 302 19.01%
Source: US Election Atlas
Obama's best county was Dallam, where he almost got 20% of the vote. His worst was Ochiltree, which could quite possibly be the most Republican county in the nation in 2008 (though Glascock county, also in TX, and Garfield County in MT, are just as punishingly Republican).
The Hispanic populations are:
Lipscomb: 29.6%
Ochiltree: 43.2%!!!!!!!!!!
Hansford: 42.6%
Sherman: 35.5%
Dallam: 33.6%
So ironically the most Hispanic county of them all is also the most Republican. And now the question I ask is why? Are most of the Hispanic in this row of five counties along the OK/TX Panhandle border illegals/undocumented immigrants? Or are they just all really conservative.?
I looked up more information on TX-13 and TX-19, which are the Congressional districts that include this part of TX. TX-13 is 17.1% Hispanic, but extends from exurban Dallas-Ft. Worth all the way through Amarillo to include the entire row of five counties that are the focus of this diary. TX-19 is 29% Hispanic and includes Lubbock and a large share of the TX Panhandle.
The Hispanic Population in Potter County, which includes Amarillo, is about 28%. Lubbock County, which includes Lubbock City, has a Hispanic population of about 28% as well.
This data makes me wonder, if TX has to make one of its four new districts VRA compliant, could they make one up in this part of the state by finding the most Hispanic precincts in Lubbock, Amarillo, and other towns there and marrying them together? Given how this area is 7-1 to 9-1 Republican, even if they made a VRA district out here, it would still probably be punishingly red.
And it makes me wonder why these Hispanics out here are apparently voting Republican. Given that Ochiltree County, which is about 43% Hispanic and voted for McCain with almost 92% of the vote, they have to be supporting to the GOP by large numbers.
Now FLORIDA, where more than half of the Latino Population is composed of Cuban American and they overwelmingly vote Red. If it wasn't for the Jews of Florida (the other swing vote), FL would go Red every year. Damn liberal Jews.
