The clergy is much more qualified to comment on political subjects for the following reasons:

1) People in the clergy are students of both history and law

2) Our system of jurisprudence is based off of the English Common Law, which, ultimately has its roots in the Bible

3) The clergy are society's purveyors of educating people on what is right and what is wrong. Understanding the roots of our history, who would be better qualified to debate laws that deal with right and wrong; fair or unfair; just or unjust?

4) Since America was not founded as a theocracy, non-Christians participate in the decision making process. That keeps us from becoming the very kind of government the forefathers fled from in order to found this Republic. Still we are a nation founded on the principles found in the Bible and we built the greatest nation in the annals of history based on those moral absolutes.
