Libya's dictator Gadaffi who was called a mad dog of the Middle East was dead and it's civil war also ended. People are wondering who will be the next victim. Bashar al-Assad (the president of Syria) and Ali Abdullah Saleh (the president of yemen) are expected now. Among them, North Korea's Kim jong il, His name is being highly regarded. There is something wrong with Kim jong il's government like Gadaffi's. He has carried out public executions and compulsory labor & abortion. Especially it's prison camps called euphemistically "reducation camps" have detained about 200,000 people. Besides, After the midst of 1990s, About 2 million people were dead of severe starvation. I think that Gadaffi's death will be a trigger for liberalization to many other autocratic states. I'm sure that Kim's dynasty also won't last long.

Might not be a bad idea for Assad of Syria to sit up and take notice too.

But here's the problem. No one really wants to see Kim Jong Il toppled.

That is why Japan, China, the US and South Korea spend billions every year propping up his economy and sending them tons of free food. Because if the government of North Korea collapsed, there would be chaos. Millions of refugees would pour into China and South Korea.

Korean Unificiation would be a horrible thing because there is such a huge disparity between North Korea and South Korea in terms of economics, infrastructure. To the point where North Koreans are physically smaller than South Koreans because they've all grown up malnourished.

Not sure we have ever seen a country so heavily indoctrinated as N Korea. Even as horribly as Kim treated his people, right now they are weeping in the streets, their mourning will be long and terrible. There will be no uprising there, they have been thoroughly inoculated against revolution.

Never count out the hidden underground resistance. Just wait until Face-Book & Twitter opens their eyes. Big business is licking their chops to exploit this source of cheap labor. Once the boarders open, information will flood into this dark country.

Not now, but maybe soon under the new leader. He was schooled in Switzerland & may have been influenced differently than his father.
