Can there be no trust between a kidnapper and his hostages?

Hostages break promise and caused kidnapper emotional distress. Does it get more ridiculous than this? He’s suing for $75,000.

What has this world come to?

there really needs to be some kind of mechanism in the courts that prevents or deters bs lawsuits like this.

Funny story, but one that will undoubtedly end with the suit being thrown out. The mechanism for this sort of thing is to have the judge throw it out. Any other mechanism would add another level to an already burdened justice system and could lead to other cases of more merit being thrown out unfairly. It's the judge's job to make this sort of ruling. Let him/her do it. We don't need more hearings.
