They never punish democrats for their pro-abortion stance.
Joe and Nancy and Chris Matthews and the Cuomos and other TV Catholics get away with saying that I'm a good Catholic, but I play a Pro-Abortion Democrat on TV. (PA senator Casey is Pro-Life AND a democrat, so it can be done)
The Church needs to excommunicate them, deny them Communion, and other punishments, like no sacraments until you are pro-life.

Biden knows that a public official has to separate their private beliefs from their official duties. Whatever he thinks about abortion, he knows that he must maintain this separation or people will not have confidence in him. The choice of what to do about a pregnancy is not a matter for government in any event.

Name another religious (or other) large institution that has been as consistent in condemnation of legalized baby-killing as the Catholic Church. Who leads the March for Life every year? Catholics.

Many years ago Governor Mario Cuomo attempted to reconcile his private personal revulsion for abortion with his public posture in a written statement (Archives of the University of Notre Dame :: Full Text Publications :: "Religious Belief and Public Morality"). He failed, miserably.
