Our wealth and job producers are simply going to remain on the sidelines until the clear and present danger of the Obama Regime has abated.

    Vote responsibly next time, peeps.

It's been bouncing around. The average number of new claims/week has been about 371,000. In 2011 it was 406,000 and in 2010 it was 454,000

So it's a matter of what you want to compare. Is 372,000 a good indicator of decent job growth? Nope. Is it better than in the last few years? Yep.

But we'll see the Republicans complaining that it's not good enough yet and the Democrats cheering that it's getting better and both are right, and both are ignoring the whole picture.

Well, then, let's see what the numbers say....

    1. Population growth is about 1% annually.

    2. The slowdown in job growth has been stark. From December through February, the economy produced an average of 252,000 jobs a month, twice what is needed to keep up with population growth.
But the jobs generator started sputtering in March, when job growth slowed to 143,000.

    3. New numbers released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that the economy added a mere 80,000 jobs in June. That’s down from an average of 150,000 jobs a month for the first part of the year, and far too little to keep up with population growth. 5 Ways Republicans Have Sabotaged Job Growth | ThinkProgress

    4. In an article on the June employment report the NYT told readers that the economy needs 150,000 jobs per month to keep pace with the growth in the population. Actually, the Congressional Budget Office projects that the underlying rate of labor force growth is now just 0.7 percent annually. This comes to roughly 1,050,000 a year or just under 90,000 a month.

    Layoffs are down.

This report could spur some more stimulus.
