I've always considered

Well though it may seem redundant, one life sentence is federal and this one is state. It is important for 2 reasons.

#1. If a judge ever decides to overturn one of his sentences and give him a retrial, he's still in prison for a life sentence no matter what. It is highly unlikely he gets 2 judges that will each overturn both sentences.

#2. If a Governor gives him a pardon on his sentence he'll still be in prison for life under the federal charge, or vice versa if a President for some reason pardons him.

If he's bad enough to be sentenced to more than one life sentence, just shoot him in the face and be done with it.

"An avowed white supremacist was sentenced to life plus 419 years on state charges "

419 years?

sentences like this redundant.

Man sentenced to 2nd life term in Charlottesville car attack

When the time comes, they're going to have to bury him vertically, so he can finish standing his sentence(s).
Well, with parole and early release policies, probably it's a good thing they're sentencing him double or he'd be out in ten years.

BTW, OL...

burying them vertically was an old joke at the prison I worked.

We had one guy planted that still had over 500 years on his time when he died.

Ridiculous

Why don't the Democrats ever consider the recurring Muslim mass murder attacks to be hate crimes?

Or how about the BLM murder of 5 Dallas LEOs?

419 years?

That makes it harder for him to serve enough percentage of his sentence to be able to somehow use it to ask for parole despite him being on LWOP.

It also affects his ability to be downgraded to a lower level prison facility.
