We block off all entry. We board ships enroute to NK. Allow South Korea to provide the required food etc to enter through SK ports then transported to the North to mitigate shortage of necessary products

The United States could escalate the conflict with North Korea in a variety of ways. It could threaten to launch — or actually launch — minor or major retaliatory strikes against North Korean targets if Pyongyang conducts further missile tests or detonates additional nuclear devices.

The United States could also attempt to enforce sanctions by mounting a full naval blockade against North Korea and forcibly board ships bound for North Korean ports. These actions would require coordination with South Korea and could go far beyond what Seoul would be comfortable with.

North Korea Threat: 4 approaches Donald Trump could take

And when the ship simply will not stop? What next-risk war with China?

I look at it the other way. China is the one who chose war by trying to breach the blockade. There is a price to be paid for the decision they make. We have to show we are willing to act then maybe they'll do something about the dictator. I think they would rather do that than to start a war with the US

Just in case you didn't take Geography ...

North Korea shares a massive border with China ... her major trading partner. A blockade would be a pointless, impotent gesture.

Actually, no-a blockade is, in and of itself, an act of war.

And when a ship arrives, flying the Chinese flag, escorted by Chinese warships, with Chinese planes flying air cover, and refuses to stop?
The idea or claim that would happen is false.
We are China's number one source of sales.
We have the best and largest credit account.

You don't risk your number one financial for welfare aka North Korea.

Not when you are acting in self defense

It would be less expensive if the CIA were to open a Karaoke bar in Seoul called 'Fat Bois'.

KJU could visit without going through customs....and sing...the crowds would swoon...

From what I've heard, China is looking at this from a very different perspective than you and anyone who is envisioning a blockade. China intends to remain the major power in Asia. Period. It doesn't care much about NK, anymore than anyone else does, but it would care very much if US puffed up its chest and pulled that kind of strong arm tactics. They would respond. They will very much go to war if the US tries to "take over." At least that's what it seems like to me.

We wouldn't be looking to take over. Just eliminate the threat then let China have at setting up another puppet

Then why not let China put up the blockade? Why us? With President Trump's flying spittle tweets criticizing China, how likely is it that China will work with us to ensure that happens?
