its new yearseve and I'm listening to new order.

This is a very good recording, yes.

Earlier I listened to Witold Lutoslawski's "Symphony No. 3"....then Ornette Coleman's album "This Is Our Music"

I like Classical and Free Jazz, and yes, often together! I like any music that's not Mainstream, I don't do Mainstream anything actually and I absolutely hate Pop Music.

Mikemikev, famous English troll, showed me this. He lives in exile in Korea.

nice huh?

It's not New Year's Eve anymore but I'm listening to:

Richard Strauß - 'Die ägyptische Helena, Op. 75', opera in two acts. Inspiration being Euripides and Stesichorus.

'Die ägyptische Helena, Op. 75', originally premiered in 1928, with the great Soprano, Elisabeth Rethberg as Helena, wife of Menelaus and the Tenor, Curt Taucher as Menelaus.

Elisabeth Rethberg retired in 1942, her marvellous voice having been pretty much destroyed, apparently as it's told by her repeated performances of Verdi's 'Aida', which of course, is an exceptionally heavy role.
