It's just the first round.

It’s doubtful if any minds were changed after the first presidential debate. Trump did not implode and Clinton was spared tough questions about her various scandals. It was the opening round and the judges probably scored it even. Supporters on both sides of course think their candidate won but this was just the first round in a championship fight. Trump may have an advantage here because he likely learned from the experience whereas Clinton, who is a seasoned veteran, is about as set in her ways as a contestant can get.

It was a feeling out process and Trump did not aggressively exploit some opportunities that came his way. For instance when pressed about his tax returns and what Clinton says he is hiding Trump should have sharply followed up on his counter about what Clinton is hiding in 33,000 emails she deleted. Her answer that destroying evidence subpoenaed by the FBI was a “mistake” should have been quickly rebutted with the question: Why is it a crime for everyone else but just a mistake for you?

In addition after the fight started Trump had to contend with a referee, Lester Holt that kept stopping the fight to warn Trump about fact checking infractions that he was not committing. Holt apparently does not understand that the judge that the ruled “stop and frisk” unconstitutional was biased and was removed from the case. Then the Mayor of NY, Bill De Blasio refused to the press the issue and just accepted the judge’s ruling. So Trump not only had to fight his opponent but also had to deal with an incompetent referee that did not have a grasp of the rules of the fight.

Holt, a registered Republican, is apparently one who does think trump is a true Republican so he not only harassed Trump with questionable fact checking but treated Clinton with kid gloves and never asked her about an illegal server she had in her bathroom or why her subordinates all are all taking the fifth under oath. He never asked her about the Clinton Foundation and pay for play which is a huge red flag for political corruption. He never asked her about the Benghazi debacle and the phony video story that was used to hide the real facts leading to the deaths of State Department employees.

But even in the face of all these obstacles Trump was able to score enough points to keep the fight even. And this is good news for his campaign. Clinton is the interim champion not the true champion because she was chosen by the fight officials (Democratic Party). Clinton has only one strategy and that is to smear her opponent because she has nothing to run on as far as achievements and Trump can use this against her as she begins to become fatigued with no other ideas later in the fight.

This is not a boxing match; it’s more like a mixed martial arts contest and trump can come at Clinton from angles her seconds cannot predict or prepare her for. Trump is admired and respected as the people’s contender because his tactics are reflected in questions they ask but are usually ignored by the political machine that is going out of its way to rig the fight. Clinton will enter the second round with the same predictable bedridden style that has always kept her from going all the way. Shopworn statements like “trickle-down economics” are old, slow and you can see them coming from a mile away. Trump just needs to relax, stay loose and wait for Clinton to walk into a counter punch that can stagger her chances. It won’t be easy because the fight officials (the media) want trump to lose. Trump can’t wait for a decision, he must go for a knockout and that is going to happen.

Good analysis. But winning the debate (if there is such a thing) may or may not matter. Those that are undecided between Trump or Hillary at this point are completely clueless and really should not be voting. But they will. And they will be heavily influenced by the popular press who have been working diligently to destroy Trump.

So it comes down to how many and how motivated the voters are to stay the course and ignore Hillary's issues or try something different. Those that are willing to try something different don't care about Rosie O'Donuts and those that do are already owned.

LOL sure thing, you think he can stay on point long enough to know what the point is?

"About midway through their first debate, Hillary Clinton said of Donald Trump: “I think Donald just criticized me for preparing for this debate. And, yes, I did. And you know what else I prepared for? I prepared to be president. And I think that’s a good thing.”

It was one of her best moments, an understated swipe at Trump’s evident lack of preparation for the responsibilities of the Oval Office, and it got to the heart of their often disjointed exchanges: Clinton was measured and assured, if a little too much of a policy wonk at times, while Trump was as erratic and peevish as he has been since the beginning of his campaign."

"Words matter when you run for President,” Hillary Clinton said toward the end of Monday night’s happening at Hofstra University, on Long Island. Clinton was criticizing Donald Trump for his loose language regarding America’s allies in Asia, but she could have been summing up the lopsided debate, which saw her doing virtually everything she needed to do while Trump indicted himself with his own words."

Hillary Clinton Brings Out the Real Donald Trump - The New Yorker

"My preview of the debate yesterday focused on the fact that Trump’s “serious” debates at the end of the primaries, when there were fewer rivals, gave us some clues about how he might perform in the main event. He was aggressively incoherent and sometimes completely unintelligible, proving repeatedly that he had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. This has actually been obvious from the beginning of his campaign if you watched his rallies and interviews. It’s just that his personality is so remarkably bizarre that I think the lack of substance is easy to overlook. (I confess I have been somewhat surprised that so many people find his rambling “braggadociousness” appealing enough that they fail to notice that he is ignorant about everything important to the job of president.)"

Hillary dominates — and Donald Trump gave the worst debate performance of any candidate ever

Last night Donald Trump demonstrated not only that he didn’t prepare but that he has no underlying knowledge of the subjects a president is required to know. He simply tried to bluff his way through with incoherent misdirection, hostility and sarcasm, even as he made the absurd claimed that his temperament is his best quality. He gave the worst debate performance of his short political career. In fact, it may have been the worst debate performance of any political career." from above

- Trump clearly lost but you have to recognize something here, the man is insecure and doesn't have the strength of character to say he lost to a woman. His insecurity is what is so dangerous about him having any power. He could have been man enough to admit he'll prepare better next time, but instead he spins lies on non-existent polls and yet his followers believe. Weirdest thing about his run for president is he creates a bubble world in which nothing makes sense and yet they follow like lemmings? I guess saviors never falter.

"Trump also maintained that cutting taxes in half on the rich would produce economic growth, jobs and shrink the deficit. It would of course cause the deficit to balloon by trillions and reduce employment by increasing the gini coefficient.

But of course Ronald Reagan made the same pledges, and Republicans during the Great Depression had said the same thing, demonstrating how an alternative reality of falsehoods had dominated our political illusions for decades before Trump took control of this machine."

The Presidential Debate that did not really Happen

"Democrats woke up on Monday to a spate of bad polls for Hillary Clinton, which brought Donald Trump to perhaps his closest position yet in the Electoral College. They had reason to go to bed feeling a lot better. Clinton bested Trump in the first presidential debate according to a variety of metrics, and the odds are that she’ll gain in head-to-head polls over Trump in the coming days."

Isn't it simply amazing that it is Trump who has the support of most of the former generals and flag officers and 17 Medal of Honor receiptents as well as the endorsement of the police and law enforcement union, the Border Patrol Union, and even ICE who has never before in history endorced any candidate? Yes, the active duty military and the veterans overwhelmingly support Trump to be Commander-in-Chief and not Hillary. Even the Secret Service look upon being assigned to a Hillary detail as punishment. Were Hillary so respected and revered as you seem to think, she would be the one these fine folks would be behind.

Describing Lester Crowley as a Republican is like describing Hitler as a Socialist. (After all, the latter was the leader of the National Socialist German Workers' Party.) The NBC Nightly News is about as pro-Hillary and anti-Trump as it could possibly be.

Trump raised an interesting point that went over the heads of the moderator and many of Clinton's minions. The infrastructure of America is in a dangerous state of disrepair because so much money has been squandered growing the government with programs that suck money out of the economy. Roads and bridges become very important when they start falling apart but income redistribution has shrunk tax revenues and in many cases has brought about the abandonment of urban centers by those who were paying the taxes. Trump raises "real" issues that deal with "real" problems while Clinton just toes the party line with empty platitudes that blame cops for running into harm's way to do their jobs. Real problems need to be dealt with before they become real tragedies. Orchestrated problems like Clinton's are just to use groups taken for granted to get her elected. Trump needs to drive home the point that many of the societal ills plaguing cities were caused by Clinton's party.

I love it when people pick sides. It's just hilarious. It must feel great to get behind a candidate and truly believe he or she is the "good" guy. I don't even see "the lesser of two evils" in this election. Both candidates are utter frauds and to pass off either one as being qualified is ridiculous.

The next 12 years in this country are going to be very turbulent. I understand it's fun to come into a site like this and share your thoughts, but what's happening right now is just the prologue for something much, much bigger. Neither candidate is going to fix problems. Things are only going to get worse. This country needs a revolution, and the longer candidates are controlled by big business the more it plays into the hands of the revolutionaries. Stay tuned.

I truly believe at this point that the establishment sees Trump as the more dangerous one, and I'm not sure if they think he's incompetent, or because he is an outsider willing to, in a real way, shake things up. I think it's a mixture of both.

Hillary clearly won the debate, but then you have to ask was it because she out-debated him, or because the majority of the voting public is so totally controlled by the political correctness minions, and then don't like when Trump acts "unpresidential".
When you have a total anomaly like Trump, there's going to be more people who don't like this new style of electioneering than there are people who find it refreshing. This is Trump's #1 problem. People don't like change. They have a preconceived notion of how a politician speaks/acts, and when anyone shakes up those long-held notions, people resist.

I find Trump unqualified because he's a bigger liar than Hillary, which is saying ALOT. He's contradicts himself, like, hourly! It's hilarious. I just don't see someone who is that out-of-control ever being allowed near the White House. Not that it matters. If he does get in, the Dems will roadblock him much like the Reps did to Obama. There's no hope in this turnabout.

Another point Trump raised that was shrugged off is that interest rates are being kept artificially low to keep the Democrats in office. After the election those rates are going to start going up and they will keep going up. As trump said we are in a bubble. Oh and let's not forget gas prices. Do you think they are being kept low for the same reason? Trump actually knows what's happening but the indoctrinated, sheep think things are just dandy and normal. A big surprise is on the way after the election.

It was at 54% before the debate.

This isn't a third world country. We don't have revolutions on the streets, we have them at the ballot box. Picking sides is how we do it, it's how you move things one way or another.

The SCOTUS will be a MAJOR factor in how our future plays out. One candidate says he will select Constitutional types, the other will turn the court into a leftist rubber stamp. That's the station you need to tune to.

So your crystal ball told you the Dems will take over congress? And it cares little for the steady stream of lies from Hillary and the corrupt government and media covering for her. I take it back, please don't vote. You're too fucking stupid.
