"Hate crimes" are actually special prosecution under the law. Never the less, it is an example of the law not being applied equally. It is ridiculous.

Two things seem weird to me. First that a "Hate Crime" hold more weight than "First Degree Murder". For the record, Elmhurst, Corona (where the Victim lived), Jackson Heights, even Sunnyside, are some of the most diverse communities in Queens, more so than Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. we represent people from more Countries than the UN, and it's been that way a very long time.
