OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation policemen arrested seven inhabitants of the Araqib village that was wiped off the map in the Negev for the second time on Wednesday.

Radio Israel said that the police force detained the citizens after they objected to the destruction of their village for the second time, adding that secretary of the democratic front for peace and equality Ayman Odeh was among the detainees.

Palestinian minister of public works and housing in Gaza Yousef Mansi denounced the Israeli demolition of Palestinian houses in the Negev.

NEGEV, (PIC)-- Israeli bulldozers escorted by a large number of Israeli policemen and troops stormed Wednesday morning the Palestinian village of Araqib in the Negev region and re-demolished the homes of the villagers.

The village's homes were rebuilt in cooperation with the high follow-up committee for the Arabs of the 1948 occupied lands after they were razed last week.

Palestinian sources said that the policemen and troops physically assaulted the villagers and everyone found at the scene and detained a number of them.

Israel demolished last week more than 45 homes in Araqib displacing hundreds of its residents, most of them are children and women, and uprooted all trees in order to wipe out any sign of the village.
