This is a media-parable (sports-related) inspired by Jerry Maguire.

ISIS terrorists hated the American media and professional athletes being recruited for mercantile-endorsements such as Wheaties breakfast cereal (i.e., Michael Jordan). However, American kids loved media-spotlights on iconic professional NFL players such as Bernie Kosar (iconic QB of the Cleveland Browns) and Jim Everett (iconic QB of the Los Angeles Rams)!

Kosar was considered one of the 'last of the great classic QBs' in the NFL and was therefore likened to QBs such as Unitas, Bradshaw, and Tarkenton. Kosar's Browns struggled, but his clever and ingenious play made NFL Sunday a great TV-ticket for American youngsters interested in learning about 'Cleveland mannerisms' and teamwork-ethos. Kosar was the perfect 'celebrity-child' for the era of Sports Illustrated...and ISIS hated him!

Jim Everett was one of the 'new school' QBs though a contemporary more-or-less of Kosar. Everett was the QB of the hot-shot L.A. Rams which featured a talented RB and terrific WRs. The Rams never surmounted the titan-like Joe Montana-led San Francisco 49ers, but Everett's play made for outstanding NFL Sunday TV-viewing, and kids loved the way the Rams combined grace with derring-do. Many considered Everett to potentially be the new Joe Namath (of NY Jets Super Bowl fame), but most Americans had to concede that everyday Rams excitement might have to suffice. Nevertheless, media-exposure made ISIS frown upon L.A...

Finally, it took the heroics of the underwater superhuman Aquaman to save the day. Aquaman contended with his machinating nemesis Black Manta who was currently designing submarines under the Scripps Institute equipped with chemical-weapons. Aquaman wanted to thwart all forms of terrorism, but Black Manta wanted to capitalize on ISIS's hatred of American media. Aquaman wanted to ensure American youngsters that video games featuring NFL athletes would remind the public that celebrating great pro-athletes (e.g., Kosar/Everett) would never be threatened by terrorism, hackers, or free-speech gibberish!

Everything now fell on the shoulders of the phenom-QB Carson Wentz and his gritty Philadelphia Eagles team in the NFL's Season 52. Would Wentz/Eagles topple the Godzilla/Goliath of QB Tom Brady and his 'Metal Machine' New England Patriots? The Eagles had other hurdles to get over such as the hot Minnesota Vikings and the potent 'new-school' Rams. If Wentz could carry the Eagles to the Super Bowl and defeat the favored Brady-led Patriots, the media would once again embrace merit and ambition over glamour and luxury. This was the rallying point, and you can be sure...that ISIS was watching!
