Obama has been appeasing Russia since day 1 and now we are seeing the consequences of those actions. Putin will likely take more of eastern Ukraine before he's done and it's very possible that he will go after Estonia also. And don't be surprised if China feels emboldened to take Taiwan. Just throwing those out there. I do believe Russia will take more of the Ukraine before they are done. The others are pure conjecture.

How do any of those actions adversely affect us? What do we lose?

We lose credibility and we lose world stature. Both are very useful in foriegn policy successes.

The world is like the old wild west, where the only law was your own 44-70. The old west had laws, but noone to enforce those laws. The modern world is the same, and our military is our own 44-70. The USA is the country that the world looks to to lead in maintaining law and order, and our reputation as a dependable leader, with a big stick, is key to that position.

Teaching reading, writing and math has little to do with the age of the earth or critical thinking, but I suspect you could use a dose of common sense to go along with those critical thinking skills that you claim to have.

Attempt to use your critical thinking skills to comprehend that a God who can control the universe, and everything in it, is not limited to our knowledge of physical laws, and can also control time and space. An omni-potent God would be omni-potent. Who would have thunk it?

BTW, what skin does it take off of your nose if people believe the earth is flat or only 6,000 years old? I don't believe in the tooth fairy, Santa Claus, or the Easter bunny, but I see no value in continually telling people that they do not exist.

Yes, we do know that the teacher's unions are the biggest obstacles to reforming public schools, and we know that the teacher's unions are the main reason that public education costs so much. The teacher's unions control the politicians that can fix the schools, and consequently, the public schools are run for the benefit of teachers and not students.

When it is almost impossible to fire an incompetent teacher, we wind up with a lot of incompetent teachers and failing schools. Failing schools condemn millions of children to a life of poverty and misery. You don't get much technological innovation from high school graduates that can't count their change or read directions.
