Obama's boys at it again. Another big victory for the Taliban. This one's just plain shocking. Time to end this longest War.

Major General Harold Greene has been identified as the army official killed in an attack this morning at a military academy in Afghanistan.

Greene was a two star major general and the highest ranking official to have been killed in the Afghanistan war. He was deployed to Afghanistan in January, according to the Pentagon's website.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, in which a gunman wearing an Afghan army uniform opened fire on Americans and others Afghans at Camp Qargha, a military academy 11 miles west of Kabul. The camp trains hundreds of Afghan forces a month and was recently renamed the Marshal Fahim National Defense University for the country's deceased vice president.

Fifteen others were injured, including eight Americans, all of whom are expected to live. Among the injured was a German brigadier general and two Afghan generals, the Associated Press reported.

American generals usually have their own security details.

The military is in the process of notifying the next of kin.

The other wounded included Germans.

Rear Admiral John Kirby said the shooter was believed to be an Afghan soldier.

Today's shooting is the latest in a string of so-called "green-on-blue" attacks in Afghanistan, in which members of the Afghan forces have attacked U.S. and coalition forces. There have been more than 85 green-on-blue attacks during the war, though they have become less frequent this year as fewer U.S. troops have been on the ground in Afghanistan.

First time an American General's been killed in a War since Vietnam. Absolutely shocking.

AFGHAN GUNMAN CLAIMS FIRST US ARMY GENERAL ASSASSINATION IN 141 YEARS

On August 5, U.S. Army Major General Harold Greene was assassinated at Marshal Fahim National Defense University, Afghanistan. His assassination marks the first targeted killing of an American general since U.S. Major General Edward Canby was assassinated in 1873.

Greene's assassination appears singularly unique in modern history--an American general killed by soldiers from an allied army, rather than current or former enemies. While Canby's is the closest approximation to the incident, killed during peace negotiations with the Modoc Native American tribe, the Modocs had recently conducted a war against the United States that precisely led to those talks.

I haven't seen the first statement on this from Obama expressing his condolences.

It's well known in Afghanistan that the Taliban are big Obama fans. He's helped their cause more than anyone could have possibly imagined. He gives em back their top Generals, while they murder ours. He's a Win/Win dream come true for them.

.

He wouldn't be dead if Bush hadn't put us there.

We still haven't learned that there are NO trustworthy players over there, yet we keep putting trust in them.

We keep shoving our fucking noses in the fucking business of fucking people who don't fucking like us.

It's not our fucking job to try to engage in nation-building for a 17th-century civilization.

We just don't fucking learn, and yet another casket will be returning from the Middle East.

.

It wasn't a mistake to go there. It was a mistake to stay there with no intention of slaughtering the enemy. If you don't have the balls to kill the enemy there is no sense remaining.

Had a German general been murdered like that during WWII at a training camp, you can bet justice would have been carried out on a massive scale swiftly! We could do better if we adopted some of the Nazi strategy when we have to fight a war and put the enemy into submission.

Simply a case of workplace violence...
From Jim Miklszewski, et al.,at NBC: American Two-Star Major Gen. Harold Greene Killed at Afghanistan Military Academy
Here's the pull quote:

"Retired U.S. Army Col. Jack Jacobs said these attacks usually stem from troops being disgruntled about assignments or their pay — and not because they were "planted" by the enemy."

With all due respect to the good Colonel, these events are NOT "workplace violence - disgruntled employee" situations.

Make no mistake, he's a paid Obama propagandist. This is a shocking and deeply embarrassing situation. Killing an American General is a stunning victory for the Taliban.

...The shooting suspect was identified as 27-year-old Mohammad Rafiqullah, who joined the Afghan army two years ago and was assigned to the military police…

...Greene, a 55-year-old New York native, was a member of a delegation discussing a $70 million renovation to the Afghanistan National Military Academy. According to the senior Afghan official, Rafiqullah opened fire from a bathroom window in a nearby building. The general was hit once in the leg and four times in his back. About 20 other American, British, Afghan and German officers were injured, including a German major general and an American brigadier general. Rafiqullah was shot in the face by ISAF troops and died instantly. Greene's death was the first time an officer with a major general rank has been killed overseas since the Vietnam War.…

141 years ago seems a bit before Vietnam.

The 141 years refers to an Army General. Either way, it's a real fluster cuck. Obama gives the Taliban their top Generals, while they slaughter ours. Yikes.

This administration is developing a nice track record. Initially, diplomats get killed after numerous decades, and now a general.
Hopefully, Pelosi or Reid go to Afghanistan soon on a fact-finding mission so we can add a congressman to the list!
