Up on the scaffold
This BBC production was released several years ago and it left me in awe of India.

It's a six part series narrated by Bernard Hill of Titanic and Game of Thrones fame, and covers what binds the nation of India together: the railways. This programme is broken into parts that cover the major lines that serve each region and the impact they've had on commerce, culture and how they've helped shape modern India. The production value is incredibly good with Hill being the perfect accompaniment to the rolling landscape of the old Raj. You'll also meet many colourful characters along the journey, too, each one explaining how much the railways have impacted them and their overall respect for the Victorian engineers and entrepreneurs who developed them. The whole series in available on Amazon, but here's episode two (as I can't find the first one). I hope you enjoy them all as much as I did.
