New York City residents who want to own a gun may soon be denied permits if they are litterbugs, if they are bad drivers, or if they have fallen behind on a few bills.


Under proposed revisions to the police department's handgun, rifle and shotgun permit procedures, the NYPD can reject gun license applicants for a number of reasons, including:

• If they have been arrested or convicted of almost any "violation," in any state;
• having a "poor driving history";
• having been fired for "circumstances that demonstrate lack of good judgment";
• having "failed to pay legally required debts";
• being deemed to lack "good moral character";
• or if any other information demonstrates "other good cause for the denial of the permit."

Sooner or later the courts will get around to NYC gun laws, and even with Bloomberg trying to forstall the overturing of the laws with reducing the cost of a gun permit, I think the courts will overturn most of the regulations, with the exception of the concealed carry laws.

New York is a mess, has always been a mess and will continue to be a mess for one reason. It began as a British incorporation and the Brits still to this day hold influence over New York. That is exactly why you see New York as something way less than American.

We need to take it away from the Brits, change it's name to something more appropriate to America, and bring it into the American family and American influence.
