Sharpton challenging Republicans to do something they have no control over. Will he put this challenge to Dems after he's schooled on how government works?

As an MSNBC panel discussed congressional reticence with President Obama's strategy pertaining to ISIS, the Rev. Al Sharpton jumped in with a challenge to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to call floor votes on congressional authorization for action against the terror group.

But while Republicans control the House, Democrats run the Senate and hence Sen. McConnell has no power to call a floor vote.

I thought Harry Reid ran the senate?
But then again Sharpton is with MSNBC because he brings years of experience in politics.

And Rachel Maddow seemed to agree with Sharpton. Crazy that they blame Republicans on this when they should be talking to Reid. Fact is, many Dems don't support Obama on this yet they won't dare criticize them for that.

Sharpton is a moron, but the next time you are going to start a thread about how stupid someone is, you should check your facts.

Although the Senate votes on whether to declare war, a joint resolution to fund said war - whether declared or not - must be approved by BOTH houses of Congress.

Sharpton was in the right here, of course he should also have called out the Senate to introduce their own bill, but we know why he didn't.

They all have to agree to war before agreeing to fund it. Sharpton is putting all this on Republicans, which makes him wrong. The criticism was about not supporting Obama and he said nothing about Dems.

Something Sharpton and republicans have in common, where the right's moronic meme of 'Obama: always wrong, all the time' is just as idiotic.

LOL he has no experience in politics. Not only is he clueless he should have never been put on tv. He sounded illiterate for the first year of his show and barely gets by now.

I think we are seeing a new psychosis emerging: Republican Derangement Syndrome. In this every evil in the world is due to Republicans.
ISIS? Because of Republicans
Global Warming? Republicans.
Inflation? Republicans

It's like Democrats have not controlled most or all of government for nearly 8 years, never passed a single law or instituted a single regulation, and in all are simply powerless to affect events.
