There's no doubt that had there been a serious attempt to bring down government, the rioters would have easily ferreted out the location of the congress men and women, and then started murdering them.

If Trump attempts a serious coup attempt, he'll be stopped by being arrested or more permanent means.

The best way for this discussion to proceed is in drawing the parallel to what has nearly happened in Canada. It might still happen, but at least the police won't be handcuffed by the law if it does.
