I'm tired of all the Obama bashing from the right

Truth, Chris, Edit give it up Obama is no longer advertising for a paid ass kisser, you didn't get the job.

Gary are you truly dumb enough to interpret my post as somehow in defence of Obama?

My god, someof you people are so stupid, it simply astounds me.

which is why this spate of Obama bashing from the left is so utterly refreshing: like a cold beer on a hot day .

Barack Obama Is a Terrible Bore

From the utra-lefty vanity Fair of all places.

Sheesh, the guy is Jimmy Carter.

That homespun bowling crap on Jay Leno, followed by the turgid, teachy fiscal policy lecture, together with the hurt defensiveness (and bad script for it) that everybody in Washington "is Simon Cowell… Everybody's got an opinion," is pure I’m-in-over-my-head stuff. Even the idea of having to go on Jay Leno to rescue yourself from the AIG mess is lame. Be a man, man.

The guy just doesn’t know what to say. He can’t connect. Emotions are here, he’s over there. He can’t get the words to match the situation....

He’s cold; he’s prickly; he’s uncomfortable; he’s not funny; and he’s getting awfully tedious. ...

What happens when you move into the White House?

Well, shit, of course. The true secret of the power of language is in quickness. Barack Obama can’t keep up. He evidently needs too much preparation. And then there’s the organization. He’s undoubtedly got too many people debating what he should say...

This guy is leaden and this show is in trouble.

isn't that just delicious?

Well let's not leave out the Loyal NY Times.

Friendly fire: NYT hits Obama - Jonathan Martin - POLITICO.com
The leading liberal voices of the New York Times editorial pages all criticized—and, in some cases, clobbered—President Obama on Sunday for his handling of the economy and national security...

The sentiment, coming just two months after the president was sworn in, reflects elite opinion in the Washington-New York corridor that Obama is increasingly overwhelmed, and not fully appreciative of the building tsunami of populist outrage.

Unlike with President Bush, the Obama administration is less apt to dismiss such commentary, at least publicly, as so much carping from an out-of-touch peanut gallery. These are voices that have been sympathetic, and at times gushing toward Obama, during the campaign and in his administration’s early days...

—Frank Rich, who made a cottage industry of Bush-bashing, writing that until Obama “addresses the full depth of Americans’ anger with his full arsenal of policy smarts and political gifts, his presidency and, worse, our economy will be paralyzed.”

—Thomas Friedman, the paper’s highly-read foreign affairs columnist, turning his focus home to find the nation lacking “inspirational leadership.”

—The paper’s liberal editorial page and a frequent voice of opposition to Bush’s national security policies complaining about “confused and mixed signals from the [Obama] White House” on some of the same issues.

—Maureen Dowd, in her inimitable fashion, citing the take-charge First Lady digging a White House garden to wonder “if the wrong Obama is in the Oval.”

“It’s a time in America’s history where we need less smooth jazz and more martial brass,” wrote Dowd.

—Krugman, who is perhaps the most frequent Obama critic at the paper but also a Nobel Prize-winning economist whose analysis carries considerable sway in liberal circles, not even waiting for the administration’s bank plan announcement this week before panning it.

“It’s exactly the plan that was widely analyzed — and found wanting — a couple of weeks ago,” Krugman wrote on his blog. “The zombie ideas have won.

So the next time one of you Obama acolytes has a problem with anyone who bashes the big O, just remember that if even the above lefty liberals can see the light so there is also hope for you.

So next time you feel the urge to tell us that liberald drink the Obama koolaide perhaps having read the above might give you pause to reflect that perhaps liberald aren't ALL what you thought they were?

Liberals are no more ALL on the same page than conservatives are.

I realize that means making caractures out of liberalism not so easy, but hey, that's American life for ya'.

And caricatures for libertarians and republicans???

Those are all true according to people like Editec so acceptable.

In truth Obama can't allow himself to be a hostage to anyone's ideology but the mainstream. The hard left - as Epsilon accurately pointed out - will piss all over Obama because he isn't a socialist and he has absolutely no bloody intention of being one or even appearing to be like one. The effete "left", the Manhattan Left, will sniff but they are a bunch of ponces who are leftovers from the Sixties when it was chic to have Black Panthers at your parties. Obama won't pay any attention to them because, well, because they are a bunch of ponces.

Nor is he a hostage to the right wing nutbars who are banging on about overthrowing the government. Wankers all, they are acting out frustrations in fantasy but as long as they don't actually try and pull anything the fucking idiots are harmless.

So, that leaves him smack in the mainstream. He has the job of fixing a broken US economy - and that means helping to fix the world's economy. Not that he has to actually do that, he just has to get the US economy out of the doldrums and the rest of us will, like a miracle, move out of recession and everything will tick along nicely as it was before the Great Financial Fuckup. That's all he has to do - heck that's enough for anyone in their first term. But there he is doing foreign policy stuff as well. You folks elected Superman, you know that don't you?

So you nutbars on the right can piss and moan and it won't make a damn bit of difference. You can slag your president off as a "socialist" but you're only showing you haven't got a fucking clue what it means and you're only using the word in place of something much, much worse. But if it makes you feel better then who am I to criticise?

The leftwingers in this nation wouldn't know a liberal if they tripped over one. They are as intent on pushing their morals/beliefs on everyone else as any rightwinger.

Right, that's the last fucking time I post anything here that is at least a half-arsed effort at being nuanced. I'll just pull on the two left boots and kick the fuck out of everything in future.

Redistribution of wealth is a good thing for those who want to protect capitalism. The extreme left spews about it, remember these are the folks who hate unions (in my country, not in yours, unions in your country are fucking piss weak capitalist suckups) because they stop the proletariat revolution by ameliorating the worst excesses of capitalism. Obama is protecting your capitalist system. There are those on the left in various places who can't stand what he's doing, he's fixing it up! There are those who want him to fail and for the capitalist system to fail with him so that they can then get weaving on the revolution. Jeez wake up will ya!

Que the twilight zone music. Those people will never be in power. Obama is not fixing shit. You do not tax business MORE in a depression. You do NOT vow to destroy 60 percent of a nations electrical generation or drive the costs so high only the rich and the Government can afford it. YOU DO NOT TRIPLE a Deficit by claiming you will bring it down in 5 years by 50 percent. Do the math, he increases it 300 percent and then agrees to cut THAT , maybe, by 50 percent, THAT means in the end, even if he does it, the deficit will still be 2 and a half times BIGGER then now.

Smell the frustration and desperation of these folks?

No content, no discussion of facts, nothing but ad hominen attacks directed at what they imagine are liberals or liberalism.

There's maybe five or ten people here who contribute nothing to this place whatever.

What a waste of time.

In terms of ideology there is no left in America today, if someone can find it, give us a concrete example not simpleminded rhetoric. What is considered the left is simply anyone who cares for America and all Americans, not just the rich and corporations.

As for all the criticisms or evaluations of Obama, they are plain stupid and show much about the speaker and nothing about Obama. Sixty days to fix thirty years of greed, hubris, corporatism, is quite a task, and two old cliches come to mind, 'the proof is in the pudding' and 'everyone's got one.' After Reagan - till Bush Jr - made us a debtor nation with a walmart mentality towards the working stiff, it will take years to change. It may even take generations. Rome didn't collapse in a day, meatheads like all these armchair critics did it over a long time and the pudding was bad because too many think they know so much and don't work together to make good. Individuals can change this if they get off their critical ass and put America first - not their simpleminded ideology.

Four years.

 WOW you're clueless.

No, you are. We have 15 blue dog democrats that have already broken away from the Pelosi/Reed leadership.

Who were your red dog Republicans? I can name a couple.

Why does it it matter to you? These defectors are against you. They want to stop Pelosi/Reid/Obama.

I was just pointing out that Truthmatters was right when he/she said:

Democrats dont walk in locked stepp like republicans do.

So you can't name a few. I'll give you help. Chuck Hagel is one.

I don't care, you see? I'm not here to defend Republicans.

And yes, Democrats DO walk in lockstep. 15 defectors isn't a movement. Most of those were always sitting to the far right of the left spectrum.
