Wash. cancels illegal immigrant reporter's license
Seattle, Washington -- Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal alien obtained a Washington State driver’s license with fraudulent documents. When the State discovered that Vargas’ had obtained the driver’s they revoked it on July 18th. Mr. Vargas obtained the license earlier this year.
Vargas brought the heat on himself when he recently wrote about his experience of being an illegal alien in America in an article in the New York Times Magazine.
Mr. Vargas has refused to surrender the driver’s license to the authorities and has refused to acknowledge any correspondence with DMV. He has returned any and all letters DMV has mailed to him through the postal service.
Anyone else would have gone to jail doing the same thing as Mr. Vargas did, just let your kid try using fraudulent documents and get caught, you’d end up in court paying legal fees and facing the possibility of jail time for your love one.
Vargas was a part of a team that had won a Pulitzer Prize for journalism in 2008 for reporting the Virginia Tech Massacre.
Vargas is from the Philippines and came to America in 1993, his grandparents arranged forged documents for him. They should also be punished.
“Because Vargas didn't surrender his license, he will still have a card that he presumably can still use to board an airplane or obtain other services that require ID. But if authorities run a background check, for example if Vargas gets pulled over while driving, it will show that the license is not valid “
“Washington and New Mexico are the two states that don't require driver's license applicants to furnish a Social Security number.” It looks to me like the laws in those two states will have to be change to protect the sovereignty of our nation.
Come the Legal way or don’t come at all.
