1. A conviction won't surprise me. It is NYC. A hung jury or acquittal would be a sign of hope for the legal system.Actually, even WHEN he's convicted, it won't take him off the ballot. In 1920s, Eugene Debbs went to jail for pointing out World War I was a terrible idea, but he was still the Socialist Party's candidate. It's unlikely Trump will go to prison for this, at least not right away.
A conviction SHOULD give the GOP pause, that this guy is never going to not break the rules, and is going to keep damaging their party, but they aren't smart enough to do that.
