If God is all powerful...

I have chosen the better portion and it will not be taken from me.

The best Taz can hope for is to suffer without complaint. The odds don't look good.

...Why does it makes babies with cancer, or retarded, or deformed, or in pain, or even with all of that together? Is god not capable of a perfect creation? Is it a punishment of some sort?

Actually, it is a test.

It is an empathy test.
God deforms babies and makes them suffer to test us for empathy? :cuckoo:

There are earlier tests before the empathy test.

All of Jesus' disciples came to understand it very quickly after the Resurrection of the Messiah. And yes, it would have been hard, but many Greeks and Romans had been exposed to Judaism and philosophers of that day would have had misgivings regarding the "gods" of paganism...

But take heart --- see what Acts says regarding just this topic!

Acts 17 King James Version (KJV)
1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

7 Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

8 And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

9 And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

14 And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

33 So Paul departed from among them.

34 Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

if you can make yourself believe what the apostles said afterwards as being your religion that is a sad day for you ... what is your take for why they abandoned him.

Jesus certainly died for your sins; HOWEVER, YOU MUST accept HIS offer. That decision is entirely yours. But you only have this life to decide. You don't have an eternity. If you reject Jesus that sin is unforgivable and results in eternal separation from GOD.
HIS offer ...

that is your 4th century religion not what transpired in the 1st. - that is all you have for a religion, a book.
What I have is a book and faith. What exactly do you have? The early Church used the Old Testament and the disciples of Jesus brought us the New.
Isaiah 53 Complete Jewish Bible (The Book of Isaiah is believed to have been written over several years spanning from 701 BC to 681 BC.)

1 Who believes our report?
To whom is the arm of Adonai revealed?
2 For before him he grew up like a young plant,
like a root out of dry ground.
He was not well-formed or especially handsome;
we saw him, but his appearance did not attract us.
3 People despised and avoided him,
a man of pains, well acquainted with illness.
Like someone from whom people turn their faces,
he was despised; we did not value him.
4 In fact, it was our diseases he bore,
our pains from which he suffered;
yet we regarded him as punished,
stricken and afflicted by God.
5 But he was wounded because of our crimes,
crushed because of our sins;
the disciplining that makes us whole fell on him,
and by his bruises* we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, went astray;
we turned, each one, to his own way;
yet Adonai laid on him
the guilt of all of us.
7 Though mistreated, he was submissive —
he did not open his mouth.
Like a lamb led to be slaughtered,
like a sheep silent before its shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
8 After forcible arrest and sentencing,
he was taken away;
and none of his generation protested
his being cut off from the land of the living
for the crimes of my people,
who deserved the punishment themselves.
9 He was given a grave among the wicked;
in his death he was with a rich man.
Although he had done no violence
and had said nothing deceptive,
10 yet it pleased Adonai to crush him with illness,
to see if he would present himself as a guilt offering.
If he does, he will see his offspring;
and he will prolong his days;
and at his hand Adonai’s desire
will be accomplished.
11 After this ordeal, he will see satisfaction.
“By his knowing [pain and sacrifice],
my righteous servant makes many righteous;
it is for their sins that he suffers.
12 Therefore I will assign him a share with the great,
he will divide the spoil with the mighty,
for having exposed himself to death
and being counted among the sinners,
while actually bearing the sin of many
and interceding for the offenders.”

the spoken religion of Antiquity - The Triumph of Good vs Evil, noah ... that's all there is.

christianity is a direct contradiction to the written books basic religion to be accomplished by the individual theirself and was made up in the 4th century - as well all three desert religions and their recorded histories to the present have not once through the centuries reflect the true religion of Antiquity they are meant to represent.
There is no ability of man to triumph over evil. The stories of the Bible reveal over ans over and over that man is incapable of doing what is right. Noah is a drunkard and has sex with his grandson. Lot has sex with his daughters. King David whom GOD loved was a terrible father, an adulterer, and murderer. Abraham lied repeatedly about his wife and then sent his servant girl (whom he had a child by) away. King Saul could not follow GOD's directions. Only Jesus is perfect! Only through trusting in HIM can anyone be saved. Humans need a SAVIOR!

have you lost your mind, literally - stop reading that book. what else do you believe the parable of noah was about, those that were killed the reason the others were allowed to live it is the formal religion of that book. the 1st century was its rejuvenation, Jesus was crucified for their works of good - the slayers have yet to be brought to justice, bringing them to justice is the rightfull religion - the 4th century is a darkness that for centuries has plagued the Religion of Antiquity.

also, you obviously have not had the crises in your life where evil was a true threat that somehow you were able to overcome. - - do not tell us you failed as that is the saddest fate, deepest sorrow.

Noah is a drunkard and has sex with his grandson ...

again were what you say above is true then your understanding of that parable however derived is flawed undoubtedly prescribed by the 4th century - you would have to understand not all is as it seems and the above were somehow admissible through intent by the Almighty and a lesson to you about life you have failed to grasp - at any rate I seldom capitalize biblical characters and did not do so in the previous post, somehow that worked out.

Only Jesus is perfect! Only through trusting in HIM can anyone be saved.

“Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani” - - “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

not quite, obviously the game plan was not the same for both and those were words spoken by Jesus and would never have survived the 4th century if they could have been hidden -

Jesus represented the reemergence of Good in the 1st century, like noah that's all that mattered - you have to conquer evil yourself, no one can do that but yourself - claiming otherwise is the greatest sin the 4th century will forever be doomed to oblivion for whoever contributed that as from the Almighty.
You and I are sinful beings in need of a Savior. FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD! You cannot perfectly obey GOD. That is something every human is incapable of doing since the FALL. Yet perfection is the only way to please GOD. If you do one thing wrong, you have done EVERYTHING wrong. GOD cannot condone sin of any kind in any shape or form. It is only through JESUS that a human can be seen as pure in GOD's eyes because the Messiah was perfect in all things and died in our place to appease the wages of our sin. BUT we must repent and cling to the Messiah.

You can't quote the passage, that means you've just suffered an EPIC FAIL!
I can but I choose not to do so. Two different things. I’m not the one who is ignorant on this point. I don’t care if you know what I know. I am apathetic of your ignorance.
Thanks for admitting you have nothing, so Jesus died for ALL my sins. Too bad for you. :lol:
I am apathetic of your ignorance. Especially your ignorance that thinks it knows.
Jesus died for my sins on the cross, you should read up on it.
The only sin that cannot be forgiven is the sin of blaspheme of the Holy Spirit. You should read up on it.
It is the HOLY SPIRIT that comes to every individual and points to the Messiah. When one rejects JESUS as the Messiah, as the Son of GOD, as ever having existed, as not being GOD IN THE FLESH one is disregarding what the HOLY SPIRIT is revealing and calling HIM a liar! This is exactly what the Pharisees in Jesus' day did. Jesus healed the blind,lame, and sick. Jesus walked on water, turned into wine, and calmed storms. Jesus explained the scriptures and fulfilled their prophetic messages, Jesus brought the dead back to life AND HE forgave sin (only GOD can forgive sin).

IN THEIR HEARTS THESE PHARISEES KNEW THAT JESUS WAS RIGHTEOUS AND FAULTLESS --- YET THEY REJECTED HIM. THEY WERE REJECTING THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND CALLING HIM A LIAR!

FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD! ... GOD cannot condone sin of any kind in any shape or form.

you are a perfect example of 4th century christianity, you have completely lost your mind.
And you are entirely without excuse. General rationalizations get no one into the heaven.
Jesus died for our sins, we're all getting into heaven.

...Why does it makes babies with cancer, or retarded, or deformed, or in pain, or even with all of that together? Is god not capable of a perfect creation? Is it a punishment of some sort?

Actually, it is a test.
Actually, it’s an appeal to ignorance fallacy.

That it’s unknown why babies contract cancer and die in pain doesn’t mean ‘god’ is the ‘answer.’

There is no ‘test,’ just as there is no ‘god’ as perceived by theists.

You always say there is no God as perceived by theists. Thats very specific.

Do you accept the possibility of the existence of a God as perceived by more rational people?
