I have had to put a dog or two down. It is terrible. Like losing one of the family. I am sorry for our loss, but don't blame yourself. You did the right thing.

Poor Dani :smiliehug: that's terrible news, I feel for you. You are not a killer. You did what the vet advised to save your dog from suffering.

I owned a blond cocker as a kid. Terrible the day it died.

Like a family member. Smartest dog I ever knew. These dogs are so smart. . . Incredibly smart.

I've owned a cocker, a beagle and a dachshund. The smartest by far was the cocker. By far the most devastating to lose.

She's very sweet looking.

It never gets easier. We know we have to do it and we know its the best thing to do for them but its just so painful to say good bye.

You really can take comfort in that you gave her a good life and when the time came, you did what was best for her instead of what was (perhaps) easy for you.
