"There is no sin greater in a presidential race than telling the truth. Romney is being excoriated for accurately describing the situation in America today. Here are the stats:
*49% of all Americans pay no fed income tax
*47% receive a check from the government of which more than half are means tested welfare checks (Medicaid, welfare, food stamps, etc.)"

yes those nasty tax deductions, yet the law is there and all take it, yet it is the poor and elderly that are the bad people to KG.

It’s also important to recognize that while tax expenditures push many people off the income tax rolls, they provide much larger benefits to higher-income households than to others, measured both in dollar value and as a share of income (see these TPC studies). Rather than focusing on how relatively modest tax breaks make many of the elderly and low-income workers with children nontaxable, we should keep in mind that high-income households pay a lot less tax than they would without tax expenditures.

Hey KG, since you're part of the 47%, how does it feel knowing what Mitt really thinks about you?

He thinks that I don't pay taxes? Which is true?

Why don't you tell us what YOU have read into his comment about what he "thinks" about the 47 percenters?

What do you *imagine* he meant? What are you going to claim he *said*?

I imagine you can come up with something imaginary and damning for the missing 1-2 minutes as well. Go for it, this is your big chance.

The point is, you loons lie when you claim he's lying.

He's right on the money. 47 percent are dependent upon government programs, and think the government owns and owes them.

You guys don't realize you're that way, though, so of course you're going to cover it up.

That is not ALL he said or WHAT he meant. HE said 47% of those who do not pay any income tax will only vote for obama because of the goverenment freebies they get and he is not worried about them. In essence he said to 47% of Americans "fuck you" and there is not way to take it out of context or miss speak. Most of those who do not pay any income taxs are working hard every day and their income is supplemented by Government assistance. And most who receive some help have already paid into the sysytem. What the village idiot do not understand is how hard it is to get a welfare check. Welfare checks are only given to children and it only allows people to merely exist. NO one LIVES off welfare.
There are as many right winger that are poor and get some form of government assistance as there are left winger. And they are voting for Romney.

In the video, Romney described nearly half the country, or 47%, as people who won't "take responsibility for themselves," who are "dependent on government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it."
This is a direct insult to MORE than half of Americans. MORE than 47% of Americans are benefiting from some form of government asisstance. Even Romney's sorry ass.

Can you Republicans make up your minds already? Of the major parties, you claim to be the one that wants less taxes. Shouldn't you want to do away with the income tax altogether?

Yes! A Fair Tax would be awesome!!!!

The main issue is there are many within that 47% that are supporting Romney for president....yourself included.

He'll probably be okay though, most of you don't seem to understand it.

I actually think Mitt missed a perfect opportunity to bring up revising the tax code. He should have used this video to talk about a flat tax, a simpler more balanced approach to taxing.

And when Obama said "You didn't build that." he meant businesses and not the infastructure.
And your lies about welfare are a joke.

The tax structure currently in place, which is almost entirely a Republican tax structure, from the marginal rates, to the various credits such as the child tax credit, which is the big one,

is what you're calling a government program that people are dependent on?

LOL, low taxes create government dependency?

That IS a new conservative talking point!!!!

The majority of entitlement benefits go to the elderly, disabled, and working households.

And just because 47% receive aid, and 49% pay no federal income tax does not mean all of them are democrats. ;)
I know plenty of republicans who receive aid from the government, and/or pay no federal income tax. Mitt was stereotyping and looks like a fool.
Prime example is my parents, my parents have never received Aid from the government, well my mom did in 1969 when her husband was dying, but other than that nothing, they pay a large amount in federal income tax due to my mother's small business, and they have always worked for what they have. They are voting for Obama.

Want a few other examples?

Romney is offensive to the working families of this country, and very offensive to the working poor. YOu know the people who make your McDonald's french fries, or check you out at Walmart.

Romney said that ALL of President Obama's current 47% in the polls, which is about where it was at the time,

came from people who paid no taxes and were government dependent.

That is the lie he told. Someone want to prove that isn't a lie????

It will be pretty difficult to prove it isn't a lie.
