A Google search comes up with a variety of results. But the general consensus is that his estimated net worth is somewhere around $528,000.

How much of that do you think he's willing to donate to the poor and homeless and disabled veterans?

$528,000 is a rather low net worth for a US Senator. Compared with Mitch McConnell's 2012 net worth of $22,841,000, he's a piker! And what does net worth have to do a person's annual donations? What is your net worth and how much did you give to charities last year? None of my fucking business, right? Well, what anyone else contributes is none of your business, too!

Another shit stirring fail thread!

Geeze... I'm worth more than that.... not much more mind you. Sounds like even though I think he's a nutter, perhaps he's at least true to his ideals. I at least respect that.

Just like algore he has no personal credibility....

Hashtag professional politicians

I do give him that he is one of the poorest in Congress. I respect the man for that, I just think he is usually a moron.
I just googled Bernie Sanders and charity and didn't get anything related.

He is absolutely genuine and sincere in what he says. Just like Adolph Hitler was.

Kernel Sanders is the one talking socialism.
He needs to put up or shut up.

Net worth is including your home value.... basically, Sanders is broke..... probably the poorest senator in congress.

Which is what we should expect from a lifelong public servant .

Why do people see this as a bad thing? He's obviously not making a buck off his political standing .

There are 4 republican senators poorer than Bernie if you find that to be of merit.

His home is not included in his net worth. And there are 5 senators poorer than Bernie. 4 are republican.

As a socialist it wouldnt look good if he had millions.

Sanders does not strike me as the greedy stingy type. Crazy a bit? Lol yeah but ultimately his networth is not my concern.

That is pathetic! Absolutely pathetic! It's proof he has zero idea to grow the economy and will destroy it. He is an economic mental midget.

First, he has never had a real job outside of government. He doesn't know business or the first thing about making a profit.

Second, he has been in Congress since 1991. He makes $200K ($175K base plus $25K for his committee) HOWEVER, he does pay medicare, medicaid or SSN. He doesn't contribute to a 401K because he gets the sweetest pension in the world. He doesn't pay for health insurance. He gets free meals, housing expense allowance and many other freebies etc.

Second, he lives in one of the least expensive states in the country (property costs, property taxes and cost of living).

Third, he is married to the President of the University of Burlington. I guarantee that is $200-$300K. Not now because she is retired, but in the past.

Fourth, he is notorious for being the least generous Congressman with a whopping $6K-$8K going to charity! Yet he is so eager to give everyone else's money away.

So this guy that in relative terms makes a good amount of money can only amass a relatively small amount of money is the guy that will lead our economy. Who you crappin?

Let see, 5 out of 100? I guess Sanders can not make the 1percent crowd no matter which way he goes.

Strange, Sanders has been in Congress fr over 20 years. Why hasn't he grown richer like the rest of the long termers such as Reid?
