How Many Of You Want To See The Banksters Go To Jail?

When Bush handed Obama the country, he left it in shambles, that's a well-known world-known fact.

The bulk of the financial disaster was caused by the shady dealings and policies the banksters instituded on the American population.

How many of you want to see some of these banksters in cuffs and marched off to jail?

How many of you feel that crime was involved.

How many of you even want the AG to investigate and get to the bottom of it?

I'd like a real investigation that could lead to criminal charges that could lead to prison, not jail, for all that were and are involved.

I like to see justice served, but since many of the people involved were Fed level politicians and their handlers... don't hold your breath.

I don't want to see them jailed. i want them to be stripped of every asset they have, blackballed from getting work, and forced to live in the Projects for a period of 10 years. Once they complete that sentence... the blackball will be lifted and they can start over.

Sadly I doubt that many Banksters will go to jail for what they did.

What they did, while probably unethical, was legal.

The government held interest rates artificially low and offered guarantees on mortgages.

It was a ham handed social engineering scam that backfired.

I'd love to see it, but since the Bankster have bought and paid for Obama, it ain't going to happen.

Look at a list of his biggest contributors. It's the same banksters who got the bailouts, and the same banksters who are now supporting Romney.

Oh, horsecrap.

The problem was the banksters were handing out loans because they knew even if the person defaulted, they'd get their money back after foreclosure by selling the home for even more.

What caused it to fall apart is that the artificial bubble they created popped.

Banks do not make money on foreclosures you idiot. Most home values are substantially less than the mortgage on them.

Most mortgages are sold off to second and third parties.

The fact is the fed was basically paying banks to borrow money and the government was issuing guarantees on the mortgages.

In that environment, you'd be an idiot not to lend money.

Of course we should put blame on people who bought houses they could not afford and those who refinanced every time their home went up $5 in value as well.

The class war is over. The rich won...

Did anybody else notice that this chart shows a HIGH income share during the Roosevelt years, and a big upward spike in income share during the Clinton years?

I also noticed that this chart doesn't show ANY statistics from 2008-present. I wonder why?

Because the super low tax rates for the rich have not changed.

Why should the idle rich, who DON'T WORK, pay taxes at a lower rate than people who DO WORK?
Why should people that do work pay for those that dont?

Yup. The banks can't do anything unless DC paves the way for em. The powers that be weren't very good oversite either.

The folks who should be going to jail are the folks who were supposed to be oversite.

They apparantly had more important things to do.

Again, this kind of mentality is that I should blame the guy who installed the door on my house for being robbed of my Widescreen, not the guy who broke into my house and took it.

Were the laws badly written? Yup. Was enforcement lax? Absolutely, especially on Bush's watch, when Cox's SEC employees were watching copious amounts of on-line porn.

But at the end of the day, the Banksters were the ones who gave out reckless loans, bundled them up and sold them off to suckers, and then went hat in hand for bailouts while turning the screws on people, using Robosigners to foreclose on people (even people who they didn't have loans with.)
