How Many Of You Want To See The Banksters Go To Jail?

I would love to see Obama fire Holder and appoint Eliot Spitzer as AG. Then we would see some heads rolling for this financial crisis.

When Bush handed Obama the country, he left it in shambles, that's a well-known world-known fact.

The bulk of the financial disaster was caused by the shady dealings and policies the banksters instituded on the American population.

How many of you want to see some of these banksters in cuffs and marched off to jail?

How many of you feel that crime was involved.

How many of you even want the AG to investigate and get to the bottom of it?

Let's put it this way. I want to see some "masters of the universe" who've previously escaped justice being frog-marched with the cameras flashing for the next day's newspapers.

This should have been a poll. me, and at least 95% of others. but it's a little tricky question, when you say banksters I assume those who defraud our government, but not all do, some just work in banks and do nothing wrong...

Another one who appears to want to skip 'due process'.

How about we start with the Democrats and the Republicans. After all, they are the people we elected to run the country.

Why the hell you people* demonize one group and half the other, while letting your own team off without comment is beyond ridiculous.

* You people - anyone who blames one party or the other.

According to radio news Bank of America is still a ticking time bomb.

All of the big banks got bigger not smaller = yet another ticking time bomb...

The bankers are the commies busy duping their clients...

Bailing out the Bush/Cheney Home Loan Wall Street Bank Fraud cost consumers $ trillions, millions of jobs, loss of retirement plans and loss of medical insurance. Exactly like the Reagan/Bush home loan scam. Déjà vu can we say. Yep seems to be a pattern.

Fraud certainly was very important in the housing bubble of recent years. But the housing bubble—like bubbles generally—did not depend on fraud, and most of its development was there for everyone to see.

With the principal problems out in the open and with the authorities not only ignoring those problems but contributing to their development, one might say that the situation with the housing bubble was worse than a Ponzi scheme. And Madoff bilked his marks out of only $50 billion, while trillions were lost in the housing bubble.

Also, Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan denied the housing bubble’s existence—not fraud exactly, but deception that kept the bubble going. (Greenspan, whose view was ideologically driven, got support in his bubble denial from the academic work of the man who was to be his successor, Ben Bernanke.)

In addition, government regulatory agencies turned a blind eye to the highly risky practices of financial firms, practices that both encouraged the development of the bubble and made the impact all the worse when it burst.

Moreover, the private rating agencies (e.g., Moody’s and Standard and Poor’s) were complicit. Dependent on the financial institutions for their fees, they gave excessively good ratings to these risky investments. Perhaps not fraud in the legal sense, but certainly misleading.

Bush/Cheney implied many financial institutions were at risk instead of only 3? One of the biggest lies perpetrated to American citizens. Where did this money go? Why were some banks forced to take bail out money?

There were just a handful of institutions that were terribly weakened. AIG the insurer, Bank of America, Citigroup, those three were clearly in very weakened form.

I say one could apply those reasons to all big Wall Street banks. Leaving them too big too fail endangers the world economy no matter what. Not too bright.
