‘Why do you let the United Mine Workers (UMW) take $2,500 a year in dues from you
and put it on a guy that is eliminating your job?’” he said. “They just hang their heads.”

Seriously these coal miners dues have been going to Obama.
    Obama has said:
When he was running for president, Obama vowed to bankrupt any new coal-fired plant with regulations, :
Obama "So, if somebody wants to build a coal[electric utility] plant, they can it’s just that it will bankrupt them,!"
Obama: We’ll bankrupt any new coal plants « Hot Air

“While Joe Biden said he wanted ‘No coal in America,’”
Biden speaking with an activist in Ohio Tells her he doesn't support clean coal here in the US and that he only wants coal plants built in China!

So again How f..king dumb are the leaders of the UMW to donate 90% to Obama who has said HE WANTS To destroy their members JOBS???

Once again the sentiments are so compassionate.." kill you with dirty coal" YEA Joe..
The road to hell is paved with good intentions!

Look what YOU did in 1986 when you voted for EMTALA AND that is costing Americans BILLIONS today in purposely Marked up sometimes 6,000% in health care claims to Medicare and private insurance!

Folks this is just another example of how these "good compassionate" people are destroying our country industry by industry!

And I know most of you DON'T want that so why are you supporting a group of people that are doing it?

    Coal industry being destroyed.
    Health industry being destroyed.
YeT THE one segment that Obama/Biden made their initial living from "lawyers" HEARD any effort to tax the $100 billion a year in fees they make? Any studies showing how 90% of doctors say they send $600 billion a year in duplicate tests, specialist referrals.. ALL BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID OF BEING SUED!

Again most of you that are still thinking well at least I'm not going to be racist and vote against the black man..."
THINK... I and a growing number of blacks don't care about Obama's color.. we care about our country!

They are building a big coal fired plant in my area, and there is one 25 miles down the road.

And?? Do you know HOW LONG it takes to get the land, file the papers, do environmental impact, get certfications, licenses, file with OSHA,EPA, and then start building? YEARS!

The new regulatory regime will all but guarantee that new coal-fired plants won’t be built to replace others shutting down:

You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.

EPA to kill new coal-fired plants through first-ever greenhouse-gas regulations « Hot Air

An average a house that is 1600-2000 square feet and having electric appliances except for the furnace use an average of 1500Kwatt-hours per month making 50 Kwatt-hours per day and a total of 18,000 Kwatt-hours per year.

Coal fired utilities cost of 4 cents per Kwatt-hour that would be in a year: or $720.00
Wind/solar utilities costs of 22 cents per Kwatt-hour or per year $3,960.

Now that was the COST to the Utility companies!
Think what it will be to YOU -- well Obama told us..
So, if somebody wants to build coal utility plant it’s just that it will bankrupt them,!"
And he went on to say: “Under my plan....electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."

Are you willing to pay 550% more for your electricity?

The coal miners are smarter than you give them credit for. The official union position is that the miners should sit out the election for president and not vote for obama. While not an endorsement for Romney, it comes close. obama is clearly not well received by the coal miners and the union this time is not donating to his campaign. No one is going to follow union members into the voting booth to make sure they don't vote for either candidate. Those votes will go to Romney.

Ohh well it is either Obama or give to the ones that want to eliminate ALL unions period.
    Yep a pretty sucky situation.

Not much difference at all in the 2 partys.

Coal will be around for quite a while though esp if we clean it up all we can.

    One more point..
I am NOT against the EPA!
But the major problem with A NATiONAL EPA is they are constantly REACTING to situations i.e.
these coal shutting activities are a result of 20 years PRIOR CO2 emissions!
Not one of the EPA currently seem to comprehend the concept of CO2 Net Sink Sequestration.. i.e.
The USA forests, plants, i.e. CO2 consumptors are taking ALL the CO2 emitted and have 15% more
    capacity!
In other words YES Coal emits CO2 as do cars, etc. BUT the entire CO2 emissions in the USA are consumed with 15% additional capacity of our forests/trees/etc.!

"The U.S. landscape acts as a net carbon sink—it sequesters more carbon than it emits.

Two types of analyses confirm this:
    1) atmospheric, or top-down, methods that look at changes in CO2 concentrations; and
    2) land-based, or bottom-up, methods that incorporate on-the-ground inventories or plot measurements.
Net sequestration (i.e., the difference between carbon gains and losses) in U.S. forests, urban trees and agricultural soils totaled almost 840 teragrams (Tg) of CO2 equivalent (or about 230 Tg or million metric tons of carbon equivalent) in 2001 (Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks).
This offsets approximately 15% of total U.S. CO2 emissions from the energy, transportation and other sectors.
More information on U.S. carbon sequestration estimates and historical trends can be found under the National Analysis section of this Web site.

Like any government agency......The EPA has been politicized. Another agency to disrespect.

Do we have any agencies in government deserving of respect?
