How Do I Play Music Vids While Working In Another Tab?

On the laptop, I could start playing a music video and go to another tab, like here, and still hear the music.

Now I'm on a Samsung android tablet, and as soon as I go off the page, it stops. Is there anyway to do it? I tried googling but no help in old lady speak. The one thing I understood didn't work.
Yeah, some of the porn sites do that now.
You would know
It is of no surprise since they want you to watch their viddy only....
Same thing with youtoob but there it's all about ads
On the laptop I never had any trouble playing youtube music vids in another tab. So why would it be different on a tablet?

This won't be helpful but --- why would you use a tablet if you have a laptop?

OL, the name of your browser should be on the top left corner of your screen. Google, Bing etc are search engines… Browsers are Chrome, Brave, Safari, etc.
Nothing is ever the way it's supposed to be on any piece of computery thing I've ever worked on. When I started teaching remotely from home, I spent hours--nay, days--.googling how to do this thing and that and I sometimes manage to get in two or three steps before it says "Now, click on _____," except "______" isn't there.

Did you ever find the "any" key?

:(

I had a gf in exactly the same position. Except she didn't give hers back.

Get a laptop. That way, you can do your thang, and on your smart tv, just go to youtube and listen to all the music you want. At the same time. The other "window" can be your tv, lol. Thats what I do. I like listening to white noise...like rain, dull thunder...or crashing waves...or windchimes in a breeze or babbling brook....all on my smart tv via youtube. I could do it on my laptop but the speakers are better on the tv.

I rarely listen to music any more. I want nature sounds.

feeling better, Bear.

Good luck--sounds interesting.

I couldn't get it to work again. Maybe it only works on some songs? I downloaded the youtube music app but it still won't work. Oh well. Don't bother with me anymore. I'm hopeless. I'll just live with it.
Have you tried opening you tube in a new window instead of a tab
Did you try what i suggested earlier

Have you gone through your settings

I hit the power button once and first time it just shut off the monitor. Then I tried it again and it gave me an option to shut down or restart. I'm not sure what standby is supposed to look like, but I couldn't follow your directions from there.

And yes, I opened a new tab and went to youtube.

That's what stand by is, sleep mode, turning the screen off
not powering down(shut down/hard reboot) or restarting(cold reboot) the tablet

You should have a power button and a home button

You should be able to put your tablet to sleep by pressing the power button,
not holding it down, press and release

You should be able to wake your tablet up by pressing the home button,
usually on the opposite side of the power button

Not a new tab, a new window

There is another button, but it's just a volume switch, I discover. Good to know it's there, though. My videos were too loud.

You sure your using the same browser?
What's a browser and why or how would I use two?
Uhm how do I explain it easy?

It's the search engine you start off with, the top of your page you can switch it from say bing, firefox, google, yahoo, opera ect....
Pretty sure I'm always on google? At least, I don't know that I've ever changed it. Would going to youtube automatically change it without me knowing?
Again you changed how the browser works by going to an Android tablet as Android does not behave like Windows. As I said Jet audio will play in the background.
