All right, I admit it, itās not that brief. I didnāt have time to shorten it. But what follows is a condensed history of the argument about who should control Crimea, one which still rages and which (as usual) is not as simple as politicians like to claim it in.Iāll begin with a question.
What do you reckon is the date of this Reuters News Agency dispatch? Iāve slightly doctored one or two things in it, but only to conceal the date.

The Crimea has always had Russian roots. Russian heart. The common people had no choice in early 90'. Everything was decided on the highest level and it's not strange that when they've got a chance they have used it.
