Folks, sometimes a person just has to hang his head in shame. What has happened in our nation? The House yesterday, April 29th, passed the "Hate Crimes" Bill (HR 1913)by a vote of 249 - 175. Obama supports this bill and states he will sign it. Seventeen House Democrats has the courage to buck party lines and vote NO on this horrendous bill including Heath Shuler (D-NC) and Artur Davis (D-AL). Unfortunately, 18 House Republicans voted YES including Mary Bono Mack (D-CA) and both Lincoln and Mario Diaz-Balart (both R-FL). To see the complete vote on this bill, Click here! Steve King (R-IA) attempted to add an amendment that would specifically state that "pedophiles" were not to be part of the "protected class" under the protections of "sexual orientation", such amendment was rejected by the Democrats by a vote of 13-10 in Committee. Rep. King states on his official Congressional website here that "H.R. 1913 would make “gender,” “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” federally protected classes under the U.S. Criminal Code. It would segregate people based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and other vague terms. Such terms are not defined in the bill. However, they are very liberally defined by the medical and psychiatric community. “Hate crimes” legislation would afford preferential treatment to a special class of people."

(1) The incidence of violence motivated by the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim poses a serious national problem.

If they were to amend the bill to specifically say that pedophiles would not be protected, then that would mean that rapists and people that fuck corpses after murdering them WOULD be protected.
