A's traveling party tours many of Japan's most noteworthy spots | MLB.com: News

I remember when the Sox played in Japan in 2008. The local coverage was full of reporters bitching about the flight, food they weren't familiar with, etc. Sounds like the Mariners (or at least their families) are appreciating the experience.

One of the coolest ever observations someone once told me was that baseball was supremely popular in every country that the US had military bases. Go figure.

Ichiro is one of the best players in baseball. He's probably one of the fastest. I really love how that guy plays the game.

When you consider his career in total, in Japan and in MLB, the guy is Babe Ruth level amazing. I figure he's on the tail end of the career now, but he's a lock for first ballot hall of fame.
