Heckuva Job Obama!!!

"Existing home sales soared in April as home buyers scrambled to claim the tax credit that expired at the end of the month, according to a real estate industry report released Monday.

The National Association of Realtors reported that existing home sales jumped 7.6% last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.77 million units, up from the upwardly revised rate of 5.36 million in March. Sales year-over-year were up 22.8%.

The gain was widely anticipated, but still beat forecastshttp://money.cnn.com/2010/05/24/real_estate/existing_home_sales/index.htm. Analysts surveyed by Briefing.com were looking for resales in April to rise to an annual rate of 5.65 million units.

"The upswing in April existing-home sales was expected because of the tax credit inducement, and no doubt there will be some temporary fallback in the months immediately after it expires, but other factors also are supporting the market," said Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist. "For people who were on the sidelines, there's been a return of buyer confidence with stabilizing home prices, an improving economy and mortgage interest rates that remain historically low."

Now you are getting the idea!

Like a true USMB thread that favors smack talk over substance lets continue in the spirit of this thread. I will post positive points and you can reply they all suck, with nobody making any valid points and nobody acknowledging the validity of the others argument.

ready?

Obama has restored the tattered US international image destroyed by eight years of Republican rule

Large blue font don't make it true. And you haven't provided anything of substance that Obama has done that has helped Americans.

But lets say that Obama has restored our international image, how does that equate to lower unemployment or a secured southern border? Obama going abroad on apology tours and allowing visiting dignitaries to critize our fellow Americans may make the international community feel better, it does nothing for us Americans. especially those of us that know that this country with all it's faults is, has been and will continue to be a noble nation.

Large blue font don't make it true.

I'm afraid it does...when you are talking smack instead of engaging in logical debate, the larger the font, the stronger your argument.

And you haven't provided anything of substance that Obama has done that has helped Americans.

While talking smack you are not required to offer substance...as a matter of fact, it is discouraged

Logical debate? Hell you haven't engaged in a logical debate since your stupid ass started posting on here.

LOL - The Democrats extend a Bush tax credit and you try and chain that to Obama??

:lol::lol:

You all are pretty desperate to come up with something Obama has actually done that has clearly benefited Americans aren't you? :eusa_angel:

The calls for an ethics probe are starting back up - will the media actually do its job on this one?

___

In the wake of Tuesday’s Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary, a top House GOP legislator is renewing his call for an ethics probe into allegations the White House offered Rep. Joe Sestak an administration post in exchange for foregoing his primary bid against Beltway-endorsed Sen. Arlen Specter.
California Rep. Darrell Issa, the ranking Republican member of the House Oversight and Government Reform committee, said Sestak, who on Tuesday bested Specter by nearly 8 points, must identify the job he was allegedly offered and who in the administration proposed it. Issa has been a one-man firing squad on the point since February, when then-dark horse Sestak claimed in a radio interview an Obama aide had offered him a “high-ranking” federal gig at the onset of his Senate bid.

Yea this guy is no Messiah. I would say he has been a miserable failure so far. People just need to take a closer look at the last four years the Democrats have had power. Since taking control of Congress four years ago,the Democrats have led our country into a massive decline. Just take a look at when the massive decline began. It coincided with the Democrats taking control of Congress four years ago. Things have gotten even worse unfortunately. Obviously the MSM doesn't talk about this but this is the sad reality. The Democrats and this President have been monumental failures for our country. It's time for real change. Lets make 2010 count people.

The rightwing called for an ethics investigation the day Obama took office and hasn't stopped yet.

If the GOP were ever to regain the House or Senate, I would give it 24 hours till they ressurect Ken Starr

When or if the Republicans regain some power in Congress, they can then begin to investigate the rampant corruption in this current administration. The Sestak scandal is a perfect example of this administration's blatant corruption. Things like that will not be investigated until the Republicans regain some power. Hopefully that time is coming soon. If the Republicans can regain some power, they can paralyze this disastrous Socialist/Progressive agenda. I still can't believe Democrats are actually spinning that their last four years controlling our Congress have been a success. Thank God most Americans are smarter than they think. Their last four years have been a historical tragedy. It is time for real change. Nuff said.

here we go again...

Well then fill us folks in sir. What exactly has the Great One done in the last year to improve the lives of US citizens?

- Unemployment sucks.
- North Korea and Iran are mocking us.
- Jihadists are in full force trying to attack us still.
- Economy still suck.
- Wall St still getting their bonuses.
- Border still wide open.
- All thing gov't run still suck.

So, fill me in on the wonders and joys of being led by this Man, and the great feats he has accomplished. Since the oil is all on the bottom of the Gulf now, can't he just part the Gulf of Mexico like Moses did with the Red Sea and let the folks remove the oil?

Double-bonus points if you can explain his great accomplishments to me without blaming George Bush for something. Libs can't seem to shake that addiction.

If you're seriously interested, I'll give it a shot. As with every politician today, there are some things that make me happy, and a great, great deal that disturbs the hell out of me. But, let's take those you listed and talk about 'em.

1. Unemployment sucks............yep, no doubt about...........I couldn't put it in any better words. But, on the other hand, when we look at the unemployment trend on the day Obama was inaugurated, and the trend it is now on, anyone with a whit of honesty must admit we're in a whole lot better place. Not ideal..................BETTER!

2. North Korea and Iran are mocking us. ......... As with every president since Washington, they all face situations where other countries just insist doing things that are counter to our interest. You list only two.................before the term of Obama is over, there will be more. Be that as it may, and again anyone with a whit of honesty must admit we're more respected around the world than on the day Obama took office. Perfect...........nope, not by a long shot............but BETTER!

3. Jihadists are in full force trying to attack us still...........No doubt about it, and a situation we will likely have to contend with for decades to come. However, by this time in Bush's term we'd suffered our first successful attack on our home soil. To date, things with the radical Muslim fundamentalist are far from perfect, but, the steps we've taken so far has had us escape what happened in the past administration. Sadly, that might not continue to be the case by the time I post this reply. But, again, although what you list is far from perfect, as we speak, it is ..........BETTER!

4. Economy still suck..........Yep, and it's likely to be a long time, assuming it ever happens, before it ever gets back to anything approaching the economy of the 90's. But, as I stated on issue one, where we were on the day Obama took office, and where we are today is much, much better. A meltdown was averted, and all of the economic trends are at least heading in the right direction. Got a long, long way to go, but, at least we are now ..............BETTER!

5. Wall St still getting their bonuses...............and does that ever piss me off! However, for the first time in far too long a time it appears there will be some reform done about how Wall Street does business. Will it go far enough..........off course not............but, it will be..............BETTER!

6. Border still wide open................and will be so until BOTH party's get together and do something about comprehensive immigration party. There is no way one party can solve it by themselves. I don't know about you, but I'll not be holding my breathe until that happens. But, on the other hand, with our economic woes, the number of illegal immigrants crossing our border is a great deal less than it was the day the President took office. Something to brag about...........Certainly Not...........but.................BETTER!

7. All thing gov't run still suck..............and it will until we voters start electing people to Congress with the courage to tackle hard issues. On this category I have to give Obama his highest rating. No matter what one thinks about the health care reform that was passed, it was a masterful use of political power to accomplish something that Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Truman, Nixon, or Clinton couldn't do. By any stretch of the imagination, it was historic legislation. Was it perfect............Hell NO!............but............BETTER!

Really? have anything to back that up or are you just talking out of your ass. Again.
How many ethics investigations did the Democrats gin up during the Bush years? How many resulted in any kind of conviction?

Even a growing number of liberals are now openly dissatisfied with the Obama White House's utterly inept lack of a real response in the wake of the BP oil spill...

BP's oil spill damages Obama's reputation

Republicans are trying to make it appear President Barack Obama has gone soft on BP and its handling of the oil spill. The charge, sadly, has merit.

...Now, a month after the explosion on the rig, Obama administration officials are finally pushing for BP to release more information about the accident and the response to it.

But these clarion calls come too late, and make it appear that the administration has been too lax in this matter so far.

Both James Carville and Chris Mathews are sharing concerns over Obama's seeming inability to do anything remotely responsible in the face of crisis...

Carville also accused the White House of going along with what he called the "let BP handle it" strategy.

The President scares me," he said. "When is he actually going to do something? And I worry; I know he doesn't want to take ownership of it. I know politics. He said the minute he says, 'I'm in charge,' he takes the blame, but somebody has to. It's in our interest."

Hell, Obama isn't even a middling president. The ultimate result of White Guilt is now playing out so predictably...

A bit of recent historical perspective regarding the degree at which Obama is failing...

___

“It” is the ongoing, unequivocal public repudiation of the agenda of President Barack Obama – a seismic shift in the thinking of the American electorate regarding the sort of “change” they want for their country. In several races “it” is also a direct rejection of Obama himself – as evidenced by the deaf ear voters turned to his personal appeals on behalf of Massachusetts’ Attorney General Martha Coakley and party-switching Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter.

Both Coakley and Specter enjoyed commanding leads over their opponents prior to Obama’s active engagement in their races, with Specter enjoying a 21-point cushion over Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak as recently as last month (Sestak ended up defeating Specter by a 54-46 percent margin). Similarly, Sen. Scott Brown trailed Coakley by 17 points just two weeks before pulling off his improbable five-point upset victory.

In both races, Obama appeared in radio and television ads on behalf of the losing candidates – and in the Massachusetts race he paid a last-minute visit to the Bay State in an unsuccessful effort to rally Coakley’s faltering campaign (similar to his failed last-ditch effort to revive the flagging candidacy of New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine).
