Everyone was nice when Reagan was alive?

Do you know who Leo Diehl was? Reagan and Tip... :eusa_whistle:

Tell you what, why don't you educate yourself about how nasty politics can really get by looking up some of the ads from when Jefferson and Adams were still around, then come back and admit that you are full of shit?

Dearest Windbagh, how many times must Dante post about his old past time of collecting the political rants and screeds and cartoons of colonial America and early USA?

Please take your tired old stereotypes and ignorance and stick it where you hide your head...up you big fat lily white arse.

Mockery is a most sincere form of flattery.

Uh, no. That would be the left. So much so that they will do or say anything to keep the Obama fails at bay. The hell with the country, can't let the first black potus fail!

What is this, the Rush Limbaugh Hour on usmb? A substantial majority of the people backing President Obama are covering up failures of President Obama, because they don't want to see the first black President look bad?

Wow! Such naked honesty. Do you and people like Traj know what you are revealing about yourselves? Jesus. .. . :(

right because the left is not obsessed with race...or gender..and use it as a cudgel and mind you even on their own, who hide their eyes or provide weak excuses....

do I need to post more comments, lets say, from the dem hierarchy that is over the top insultingly patronizing as to obamas race?

you started this thread, and, as usual you're getting your ass kicked...time to spam something else bro......:eusa_shhh:

Right... The Left is but a small faction that forms part of a voting base that never gets it's way. Look at the lefist candidates that won Dem primaries...Kucinich? The Greens? Ralph Nader? McCarthy? McGovern?

The far right tail wags the GOP dog. What did the anti war left or even Occupy get from Obama?

Media is full of discussion of it. Do you indentify or not?

I remember battling people I knew in their attacks against Bush, the most viscious attacks until the ones against Obama. Then there is the defend at all costs knee jerk defense, and worst...the outrageous and most despicible attacks lobbed against Bush or Obama that are set ups for attacking any sane person who defends against such lunacy

What has happened to American politics since Reagan days?

Newt, that is what happened. Newt started this crap on purpose. It was his "strategy".
Just think of it. How dare Republicans not lay over and play dead at the frequency, urgency, and massive dumping of lies from the Clinton Spin Room upon this nation! Ask Jennifer Flowers, the little lady Clinton admitted to having an affair with his last month in the White House after his spin room smeared her for 8 years as a liar and worse.

And what did President Jefferson do in his private affairs that became public? At least Clinton wasn'tvpreaching freedom while keeping his own children as slaves

You people...

Apparently you didn't hear. Thomas Jefferson's dna is not present in the liar's version of him raping a slave as wrongfully claimed, and he did no such thing, was not an atheist as revisionists claim, was in fact educated in 3 churches of his and his family's choice. We have letters affirming his devoted belief in Christ's teaching, written to his physician Dr. Black.

But odious know-nothings keep up the lies as though they were the truth.

Whatever in the wingnutty world of imbecility are you yapping about? :laugh2:

Those things about rape? Dante implied no such thing, yet you go whack-a-doodle-doo-dee-doo in a rant as if you have some sort of personal stake in thinhs.

Didn't weird old uncle master tom, support rape and pillage of the French Revolution? Didn't the deist Tom compose his own version of the boble and did he not have contempt for most christian superstition and myth?

Were the books written by Howard Zinn?

Met Mr Zinn in early 70s, or very late 60s on Boston Common where he was sitting on the grass with some woman. They were enjoying the day at some rally/protest. I was just an adolescent teen taking in the scene. Funny thing is, read his 'history' with a critical eye. He has more of interest and value to say than ten of you and maybe twenty Trajans....he backs his stuff up.

Zinn actually served in the military, unlike many chickenhawks.

Do I or did i agree with Zinn's views and narrative or his ideological slant? Not really, but his honesty about where he was coming from was always refreshing. You people could learn a few things of you took the shit out of uour ears.

If you could get the same out of your mind, you might notice clean ears where you perceived unmentionables.

Many of those who've tried patiently to work with you and your misinformation are only messengers whom you constantly use badly as target practice for anti-Constitutional agendas: the Green Solyndra fails to the tune of billions of dollars extracted from all Americans; wars that are waged that do nothing to protect American agendas; wars that do protect American interests that are perverted in Congress by criminal calumnies against Constitution-supporting patriots; and genuine snobs whose goals are placed as more important than the conservative people they snub because they are well-off and willing to share with others they have wisely learned will appreciate a gift and make something of it so they will not be a burden to society. The problem with assigning wealth to government is the celerity with which it may be unwisely assigned to world-class squanderers and takers who hate those the wealth is taken from and not doers.

Don't expect people being shoplifted of their hard-earned dollars through government daffiness to take it laying down when they learn of it. And when they do learn of it, there's always someone around shilling them as folks with "shit" in their ears!

Dante, you should be ashamed of yourself for being a naughty, naughty boy.

I doubt very seriously that President Jefferson, who is credited with the Louisiana Purchase, had a looking glass into the affairs of the French whose leaders were a month away by sea travel and carriage arrangements to Paris or a summer castle when his desk was piled with requests from people in this nation. His interest in France was to procure the Louisiana purchase, if you will dust off the practical side of the man's great accomplishments in the behalf of unifying the large tracts of land owned by people of the day making up this large country and keeping the good will of France for its loss of Louisiana because it had to concentrate on French homeland and internal issues.

Back then, Americans Presidents had no access to Air Force One's celerity and worked harder for folks at home than those abroad. As I recollect, President Jefferson also still had a contentious rival bucking for American soil from the beautiful British Isles and was Constitutionally charged with providing for our common defense for the sake of the Republic he helped found, and having the misery of seeing friends go down during the Revolutionary War--friends he'd never see again and mourned for the duration of his life.

I believe that you have heard of recent scandals scared up to sully the reputation of President Thomas Jefferson and other Founders of this Republic. I think it's not conservatives you are swearing at who are wrong; you're the blind one to the contentious effort being culminated into the destruction of the Bill of Rights who desire a failed village system with a large domineering fed, no personal rights above whatever would deify evil people elected by those who enjoy living in hog wallow morality and electing thugs to protect them under the umbrella of a union that excuses itself from all law and morality to take from others who support their workers and are not the evildoers they are made out to be by union whip-crackers over other people they wouldn't give the time of day if they didn't pay union dues. Talk about greed! Unions often will not settle for less than more than everything a company takes in, with nothing left over to ensure its future, such as wise planning with assets. Instead, they propagate a false religion that earning income through wise investment is bad. That's just folly.

Such an innocent-looking avatar, Mr. Dante, concealing such a naughty, pretentious scallywag who believes self-aggrandizement is achieved best by tearing his political opponents to shreds, whether they lived in the 1700s as founders or defend the Constitution of the USA from those who'd institute a failed institution to administer everybody else's money into their pet rock failed agendas propped up by people who support a Global Warming agenda by lying to the masses that mankind is ruining the earth, when actually, some of the things they've helped themselves to change has enlarged world hunger by eliminating mammals, birds, and fish that provide fertilizer for plants that take up CO2 and release pure oxygen into the air, prevent erosion, and solicit rainfall chemically.

A People's History doesn't have a single footnote in the entire fucking book, where the fuck did he back up any of his claims? Only a complete hack who thinks no one else has ever picked up a book would ever claim that Zinn backed up anything he said with an actual source or even scholarly research. The only reason he is popular with the intellectuals is that he painted them as the champions of the downtrodden masses. This gives them the cover they need to support a government that exist only to preserve its power and to protect the intellectuals against the uprising of the common man. Why the fuck do you think they support gun control? It isn't because they care about children.

You remind me of one of those professional grad students (failures) who are a dime a dozen in the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area...you just don't get IT and you never will.

The facts in Zinn's History are not in dispute -- his slant and opinions are.

Get IT yet? Oh, that's right you're still waiting for approval from authority figures.

FDR would have had a good laugh at the suggestion that "spiteful and mean spirited people" had infiltrated politics and so would JFK. LBJ would have not only laughed but he would have thrown out some good old Texas curse words that would have curled the wallpaper. The whining by the Obama defense team is not only ludicrous but a sure sign that the administration can no longer defend itself.

Why include JFK in a group including FDR, LBJ?

And all these men were hardly extreme in politics.

And of course you do not deny hateful and spiteful people like yourself infect the body politic, do you think you are like the men mentioned?

Thing is some of us have opponents that respect us...you?

The facts in Zinn's history aren't facts. At best, they are over simplifications of complex issues. At their worst, they are flat out wrong. One example of the latter that comes to mind off the top of my head is the fact that Fort Pillow is not in Kentucky. An example of the former is the claim that Polk started the Mexican War as a pretext to annex California.

Zinn holds these things up as the sacred cows that need to be slaughtered, but he is far from the only person to have done so.
