With all the coverage over the Alps airliner mass murder-suicide, there's a lot of hate bubbling back to the surface against Islam. Maybe the guy was a Muslim convert, maybe he wasn't. This isn't about him.
When people are fearful, they fall easily into being hateful too. Hate and anger can be very reassuring and comforting. Can be preferable to being fearful and feeling helpless to go on the attack as it were via hate. But letting ourselves embrace hate and fear has a very negative effect on our bodies and minds. Some of the more metaphysical types believe that when we feel various emotions regularly, we can become addicted to them. If you're angry often you may become addicted to the neural chemicals produced when you're nagry so you get angry over increasingly smaller and smaller things to get what you've become addicted to.
As the Jedis say, "You must learn to let go." And if taking their word for it isn't enough, take God's instead,
