in principle, do you support 'hate crime' laws?
No, a crime is a crime and should be punished accordingly. The punishment should not be different simply because of who the victim is.
As far as I'm concerned, every crime that would be considered a "hate crime" is a hate crime no matter who the victim is....So I'm in Immie's corner on this.
IMHO, every crime that fits the criteria of a hate crime is already against the law and there are already punishments for that crime, so to declare a crime something different because of the reason it supposedly was committed makes no sense at all.
ow many times can you hang someone for the crime of first degree or should we just cut off his hands first?
How is it different to beat someone half to death, calling them a dirty rat bastard, sonofabitch etc. than to call them a n****r
Hate crime laws create division , label people , and rule with in-equality.
yea i agree with ya .....it is another POLITICALLY CORRECT piece of shit that once again sets everyone back......i wonder who is going to be the first poster to agree with it.....bets?....
Midcan5, Dr Grump, Jillian, SusanG, Chris, all come to mind. I am betting Midcan gets on first.
