If the fossils are found in igneous rock, volcanic ashfall, then you can date the fossils directly. If found in sediments, you date an igneous rock above or below the layer of sediment the fossil was found in. Also, there are marker fossils, which did not exist before a certain time, and were extinct at a certain time. The combination of several of these can also accurately date the age of a fossil. But all of this is wasted on a mind determined to be willfully ignorant.

The primitive organisms who formed them. Just to save you some time, you are wading into the specious reasoning of the failed argument against evolution called "irreducible complexity". I urge you to educate yourself on that topic before commenting again.
A variety of methods, including dating the material that rellaced the original, organic material. Again, I urge you to educate yourself, instead of begging strangers on the internet to spoonfeed you this information.

I am always amused by your Creation cultists who cite scientific articles which refer millions of years ago- and then insist that is what happened 4,000 years ago during the flood.

Over the past three decades scientists have argued about what caused the extinction 66 million years ago - changes to climate, volcano activity or an asteroid.

The Ark nonsense doesn't belong on the science & technology category, rather, it belongs on the religious category.

The evolution and climate science denier threads dont belong here, either. The deniers claim a vast conspiracy of the global scientific community, which is laughable. Those threads belong in the conspiracy theory section.
