Looks like older people (= the first who had been vaccinated) lost partially immunity - so it's good to make a booster vaccination. Older people have often a more weak immune system - so the immune system needs more training in form of a third vaccination.

Do you like to say you did not learn anything about what vaccinations are doing? A vaccination trains an immune system to be able to react faster if a virus infects the person.
