Yeah, so Republicans are blocking women's access to pay information and blocking their access to civil courts to correct pay discrimination.

And the war on women is a "myth" ????

LOL - your talking points can't erase the truth. Man, if the GOP would just nut up and admit that everyone is equal and deserves equal treatment, they wouldn't have so many enemies. Without so many enemies, they might win a national election.

Why is that a bad thing?

You are so naive it is not even funny.

Why do you resort to name-calling?

It's called 'no contest'. The defendants plead guilty, but do not have to specifically admit to the guilt. Such is stipulated in the settlement language afterwards.

And as for "no-contest" you still end up paying.

Calling you naive is not name calling. Calling you a useless troll fucktard... THATS name-calling.

That's better... carry on comrade.

LOL... and loving it! :D

So we should just throw out the statue of limitations? Oh, I guess only for things you support. OK then.

And everyone's personal data should be available to anyone who thinks they MAY have been discriminated against. Got it.

Lets take a shit on the rule of law solely to keep lawyers employed.

If a woman has access to the information - then a statute of limitations is more practical. As it stands - with the government blocking women's access to pay information, a statute of limitations only creates one more hurdle.
Personal data "available to anyone" Bullshit smokescreen. The law would only remove penalties for those WHO CHOOSE to share their information with others. And require demographic breakdowns that don't identify any individual.

Your talking points crumble in the light of what is really happening. And obviously a whole lot of women realize it. That's why they won't vote GOP.

Pathetic spin doesn't seem to win the day with them.

People are not equal in the work place just because the do the same job, ever heard of longevity pay? There are tons of factors in the real world were pay would not be equal, and according to J. Carney yesterday those factors are even used in the White House to determine the pay scale. All this bill will do is make it more expensive for business to operate, but you guys think business is evil don't you, right to the point that you need something to make your life easier, then you quite willingly lay your money down. People with such a childish view of the world really shouldn't be allowed to vote, you just fuck things up by eating the shit fed to you by the commiecrats.

but the "base" will love it....

of course, the "base" is a bunch of old white reactionary males.... so it isn't surprising.

it's all good. that's why they can't win national elections.

When you look at demographic data for a given company, and you include enough information on education, work experience, time in pay grade etc, it becomes pretty simple to figure out who is who. And if you don't have that data, if you compare just men vs. women, then you are not seeing the true picture.

The only thing pathetic, again, is calling this bill anything but the 100% lawyer employment act.

Your argument would have merit here IF we were talking about longevity pay. We are not. We are taking about base pay rates and about the base for women being less than the base for me.
Frankly I am glad that the gop is killing this bill. It is one more slap in the face for women and one more reason why they will continue to vote for Democrats. So, keep up your anti-women crusade and lets see how the votes count up in November.

Sometimes people get tired of defending stupidity and re-evaluate their positions. Of course, we are not expecting you to follow suit. Defending stupidity seems to be your calling in life.

Call it by its real name, "The tort lawyer 100% employment act"

Why?

Because all it is going to do is open up companies to lawsuits just on the appearance of discrepancies between male and female pay. Companies will settle even if they did nothing wrong just to avoid court costs and bad publicity, and in the end the only people who will make money are the trial lawyers, and the only people who will lose money is the consumer.

The taking point.

Yeah, I get that is how the GOP is trying to spin it.

It's pure bullshit.

The government needs to get out of the way and allow workers to share their pay information IF THEY CHOOSE TO.

Shielding employers who punish people who choose to share their pay information is pure bullshit.

As is the hyperbole that the GOP is using to defend this action.

Racist and sexist in one sentence. You must be a Democrat.

if that's the best response you have, you lost the argument. get lost.

The truth of this is way too complicated for the liberal mind to understand. We on the right know that this bogus bill was designed to fail so that with an election coming up they could trump up another false war on women to get votes.

The GOP had the Dems by the balls with Obamacare but this event could very well reverse things.
Not only will the voting women be turned off, there's also the households where both the husband and wife work. Most of these are from two segments of the population that have been seriously struggling financially, the working middle class and the working poor.
53.7% of America's households have dual incomes (husband and wife)*. How many who come from the middle class or poor, I don't know. It is a fact that the middle class and poor have been struggling with flat wages for decades. It's also a fact that these groups were really stung by the Great Recession. The legislation that was killed today, could have very well brought some relief to these groups.
So in the end, it's not just women who were hurt, but also households with both the wife and husband working, just to help make ends meet.
That's a lot of voters.

Funny thing is it's the democrats that whine and hate males as woman can have many things men can't.

They can have clubs
They get promoted in colleges(AA)
They get AA on the job
easier requirements in basic training

Males are discouraged from going to college so this is why men only make up 40% of college students. Who is the real sexist? The one that does good at some subjects because they're not constantly whining about how unfair things are or the ones getting all the extra support.

Of course males are evil and need to be thrown out of the work place and spat on. This is coming from someone that supports fairness and some of the laws forcing businesses to pay equally.

When are men going to start speaking up about the sexism and hatred we face in the class room? Sure, we did wrong long ago but this isn't equality.

Senate Republicans on Wednesday blocked debate on the Paycheck Fairness Act, a Democratic-backed bill that aims to combat unequal pay between men and women.

From the link:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid – who supports the bill – voted against it

Republicans opposed the bill, arguing it would encourage “frivolous” lawsuits and deprive women of workplace flexibility.
