But what did the 2.4 trillion dollar tax cut, with more than 52% going to the top 1% do? Well, for one, it helped to pay for moving 2.4 million jobs to China. I guess that was part of the plan, but I'm not sure.

It all went to public employee unions.

Unemployment was steady, and half of what it is now before Democrats controlled Congress.

Jobs got created as fast as they were lost.

The largest transfer of wealth over the last 40 years has been from the middle class to the government to the senior citizens.

In 20 years 100% of the budget will be Medicare, Social Security and the interest on the debt.

I do agree with much of what you wrote. I have no problem curtailing or even eliminating SS for those who do not need it. I also support eliminating the earnings ceiling for paying in.

SS is a safety net. It has lifted millions out of poverty and enabled Seniors to live in dignity. But seeing millionaires collecting is nothing more than bastardizing the system.

Why on earth would someone want to do that? The government would just take that $40,000 and spend $60,000 of it on pork.

We need to worry more about cutting spending than the revenue portion of the equation. Unfortunately, no one on either side of the aisle is willing to talk about cutting spending... not one red cent of it.
