GOP kicks can down the road once again.

If Obama is cutting spending ....
Why do we have to raise the debt ceiling again to cover what we have already spent????

The President has cut spending by 2 trillion?:lol::lol: If you call winding down a war cutting spending then apparently your toast. Maybe you should spend some time reviewing the congressional budget office reports as it regards his claims.

How stupid are you? Since you are a radical right wing troll, you are the dumbest of the dumb.

he cant be as stupid as you....cutting spending is spending less one year than the previous.....care to show us that information?

Well hold on, Wry...it's the policies and agenda of this Administration that in large part CAUSES the uncertainty. To be blunt, the private sector distrusts this President because it feels that unless you are a "green energy" company he doesn't have your best interests at heart.

Green energy is the future, maybe not today but clearly in the future. Simply look at the investments being made by the oil companies, car companies and local government. In my community every school parking lot is now covered by solar panels, emergency call boxes are charged by solar and pools are hated by solar panels on the roof, no longer by natural gas.

Why would this president or any president continue to provide energy companies the governments largess when they are showing multi-billion dollar profits? I suggest you find a copy of Dec. 24, 2012 "Forbes" and read the article "Inside the Koch Empire".

Green energy may very well BE the future, Wry but it isn't the present. This Administration has consistently attacked the fossil fuel industry in this country even though it is the source of 85% of our energy production. Why should any President help energy companies? BECAUSE IT'S GOOD FOR THE ECONOMY!!! A better question is why would any President go after something that we desperately need to grow the economy? Do you have any concept of what not having coal burning plants would do to the cost of electricity in this country? Yet we're moving to shut them down.

Ok, now show me where in absolute dollars one year is less than the previous....if you plan to spend $1 trillion but only spend $800 million...it's still an INCREASE in spending......show me a minus sign by the numbers

Once again, Black...I ask you if grasp the concept that increasing spending by say 90 billion instead of 100 billion can be called a "spending cut" but that's semantics...in reality it's still increasing spending by 90 billion. What you call Obama "cuts" are simply him not increasing spending as much as was first called for.

And once again, I ask...where are the spending cuts, progressives? Where is the so-called "balanced approach" that Barack Obama campaigned on?

Spending less than you did the previous year is a cut. It pays down the deficit and Obama's fiscal cliff deal also pays down close to 2 trillion more on the debt.

It would be substantially more, but the GOP absolutely refuses to stop their insane spending to their corporate cronies and the rich.

The Republican leadership will once again kick the can down the road in an effort to keep the economy slowed by uncertainty. The 'leadership' (lol) of Boehner/Cantor will vote to raise the debt ceiling for three months only, making sure they can't be blamed for a new recession, and of course, the president cannot be praised for ending the malaise which has continued as a result of the policy of "No" by the Republican Party.

It is not that bad. After all, kicking the can down the road is what the debt ceiling is about -- it was designed that way. So it is more or less back to the usual -- and it is perceived as retreat by GOP from its hard-line.

Obama called their bluff, and it is unthinkable that Pubs will try it again in foreseeable future. That would only make them look completely dumb and crazy -- the worst PR ever.

Republicans kicked the can down the road? Fool, the media at the direction of your Messiah and America wants its cake, and the GOP is going to let them have just what they want. America is unwilling to cut spending, for the most part the majority are financially and economically incompetent. What part of broke do you not grasp. A country without a budget is a ship without a rudder, the reason your bud on the hill has not submitted one for 4 years is because it would scare the shit out of the foreign investors holding our debt. I imagine when you were a kid you jumped up and down and threw a tantrum every time your parents said NO. American's do not have the guts to face reality.

Just stay the course everyone and 1000 points of light. Blah, blah, blah.

Who said suicide is painless?

Are you really unaware that the bulk of the "so-called" cuts that President Obama and the Democrats have agreed to don't take place until years down the road (with absolutely ZERO guarantee that they will take place!) and aren't really spending cuts at all just cuts to increased spending?

The fiscal cliff "deal" consisted of $41 dollars in taxes for every $1 in spending cuts while also including new things that the Federal Government would be spending additional monies on. Where are the spending cuts?

Republicans once again succeed in exhibiting partisan cowardice and idiocy.

That's such a stupid statement. Seriously...

What is wrong with Republicans holding out for the spending cuts that the American people have asked for and that the Democrats refuse to pass?

Barack Obama campaigned on a "balanced" approach to deficit reduction. So far that approach has been $1 in spending cuts for every $41 in tax increases. Not much "balance" there, Clayton...not much balance at all. So when will we see the promised cuts?
