Mengele believed he could torture and kill Jews because he viewed Jews as sub-human lab rats. That was because he was a Nazi, not because he was a Catholic. Charles Manson was a nutter; no religion should be blamed for him. It is true God says not to murder, but there are a lot of folks -- Hindu, Buddhist, even atheist -- who don't believe in your God and still very much agree that murder is evil.
I don't expect to change any minds here, but please don't assume that everyone who doesn't share your faith is evil or a sloppy thinker.
