On a hill
Meh... losing me. (again) Every episode is "Parker is running out of money"... "Rick is deperate"... "Tony hasn't got his dredge going"

Repeat
Repeat
Repeat.

The show already lost us before, we had not watched it since season 9. Same deal - too repetitive.
Thought we would try it again.... yeah... no.
It use to be a great show, but after the Hoffman crew finally called it quits the show kind of lost it's soul.

Kind of like “Deadliest Catch”
Oh look…they caught some crabs

Oh look, they found some Gold

At least before there was a human side.
Parker is souless. He just wants gold. And more gold. And more gold. He is the opposite of his grandfather who lived a meaningful, happy life being satisfied with running his own small mining outfit that made him "mid level wealthy". Parker will never be satisfied.
Tony is a self centered bastard that only cares about himself, his wife and children. He would trample over every other person on earth mercilessly to get what he wants.
Rick is a mess. A drug addict who lost everything, as the show attempts to hide his OBVIOUS drug problem.

Parker’s Gold is TV money

Parker’s Gold is TV money
There is truth in that. Although he makes money from the ground, his net worth reveals that if it wasn't for the show - he would be living in a trailor because he would never have had the money to invest in equipment without the show.
Tony Beets was a multi-millionaire before Gold Rush, but like Parker he over spends the TV money trying to make more, but it doesn't work too well. Despite all of the Beets making a combined $2 million or so a year off the TV show - their net worth is about the same before the show started.
