Heart of Germany
Moin (north german dialect for "hi")

i´m a male, 39-years old MA and work as a quality engeneer. I was the last time in the US in the year 1995.

What i saw then and what i see now makes me deeply sad. In 1995 i made a greyhound trip in the middle west round kansas. I was really shocked an in fear by all these crack addicted fucked up people hanging around everywhere. You won´t see this in the deepest slums of Berlin.

But that wasn´t all i saw. I really love these open hearted, freindly and interested people, their curiosness and their open mind, asking me a "hole in the belly" (we say so in german) everywhere. That´s i fell in love with, sadly i never came back until now.

I love your cars until the mid 80´s. Yesterday i dreamt of a mint 69 Wildcat convertible.

Lets discuss.

Wie bist du Heute, herr Sauerkraut?

Wait, wait, I know more German than just that...

Wie kommst du in die Schule?

Was ist deine Lieblings Spiel?

 Maybe a little rusty these days.

Well, i have big trouble in my family and for the first time, i´m not in the mood to go to church. I will go tomorow morning, so please forgive me. But my fantastic wife will cook soon (a fantastic sauerbraten of course:razz:) and then we will watch my christmas present: the first and second season of "Breaking Bad". Hell...in movies and series you´re still unreached!

Usually I use my car for driving to school (Yes, i make an additional education as an mechanical engeneer. It´s free and i´ve got the time for it, so why not? It´s interesting and makes me smarter) I have an Volkswagen (what else) rabbit 2 from 1992 and i love it. It´s a very faithful friend, like a shepard. My wife has a fiat panda. Even if it is an italian car which is manufacted in poland, it is a very smart, stable and fine little racer.

My favorite Game is Scrabble and "THe Settlers of Catan" Do you know this? In Computer Games i still discover "Oblivion" and i´m fascinated of it´s atmosphere.

Let's discuss the possibility you are from Germany as you say.
I'll start with zero.

Good thing you can spell Germany.

First of all what province are you from? Nordrhein-Westfalen? What the hell is a "wild-cat"? Being German as you are I honestly believe that U.S. culture would be more shocking to you than if you were french. Germans don't fit in well here in most cases. They see it as a party spot and Americans as uneducated, backwards rednecks, and for the most part intelectually inferior despite how much you might like some of us. Your age obviously makes you more objective than a 13 year old boy who has spent 90% of his life hearing about U.S. wars.

On the other side of the coin, as an American who has been from 1 side of your country and down the other on numerous ocassions I percieve you country as a socialist, oversexed, heavily polluted, vastly overpopulated, and a thoroughly secular humanist experiment. But that is just the negative side. Plenty of positive of course. I don't have many unkind things to say about my time in Germany.

First of all what province are you from? Nordrhein-Westfalen? (...)

Nordrhein-Westfalen is traditionally Socialist lands. Most of the German coal and steel industries were located there.
It is overpopulated as it is the most populous Federal State within Germany.

In Germany, you would want to live in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg.
Either in the city Karlsruhe (IT-center of Germany) or Stuttgart (machine building and Science center).
The average income per person in Stuttgart is 74.900 $.
Unemployment in Baden-Württemberg is 4.1%.
