Gay rights? Contraception? Guns? What happened to Bin Laden and the Economy?

I thought this election was going to be about "keeping us safe" and "Republicans have learned their lesson, will stop spending and will now grow the economy".

What % of women who are sexually active take birth control? 10% 50% 100%?

I would guess 100% or close to it.

Are Republicans telling women to throw away their "birth control"? Really?

And the attack on gays?

And white Republicans wanting to "teach" black people because they have no male role model?

Yea, let's get rid of health care and replace it with tax cuts for millionaires? Really? Americans don't want health care? Are you sure?

Give us back our "rights"! Because I miss the right to, uh, what "right" am I missing?

Can someone tell me what the Republican message is? I'm not "feeling" it.

You aren't feeling your own fucking brain...

Let me guess...

Only ex-black-cons can ONLY teach black youth, Only hookers can teach sex ed, only the poor can be preached by the poor because its all "right and just."

And in what universe are republicans or libertarians NOT POOR???

I suppose you shouldn't label bitch - it goes against your party line...

So you don't know what the Republican "message" is either. OK, well, at least we both have the same understanding.

Maybe if your candidate wasnt infringing on the rights of others, these wouldnt be issues.

The right to deny women health care.

Now that's a platform the Republican Party could run on!

Birth control does not equal health care

It most certainly does. I'm a lesbian and have never needed birth control in my life to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. I've had doctors put me on contraception for health reasons.

Hormone therapy while it may prevent pregnancy is not necessarily birth control.

And is screwing with your natural hormone levels actually good for you or did you just want to regulate your own menstrual cycle?

It is if you don't want to have a baby.

If you don't want to have a baby why the hell should your employer have to pay for your birth control?

And if you don't want to have a baby you don't have to do you?

It would behoove an employer to include contraception in their health care plans. Keeps the employee WORKING.

Before we take contraception out of all these health care plans, take Viagra out first.

Youre the reason they find debating liberals so frustrating.

I think your reply to Avatar was one of those in-yo-face slam dunks. Hope she likes her new "highlight". It had the added benefit of being 100% correct.

Perhaps..

But it should still be the employers decision if s/he wants to offer it to his/her employees.
It should be the employees choice if s/he wants to accept a position that has such a benefit
It should be the insurance company's choice if it wants to offer such coverage in a plan

It should not be the governments role to make any of the above decisions.

As for the viagara thing? I find it rediculous that any insurance company covers it...but it is their choice to do so.

I think he was exhibiting how the GOP candidates and congressional leaders is no longer talking about the economy or terrorism now that the economy is on the upswing and Obama has killed the #1 terrorist in the world.

Just my guess.

The economy is on the upswing? So are debt, deficits, inflation, gas prices, food prices.. the only thing going down is the value of the U.S. $. But yes, Bin Laden is dead....

people paying attention to the GOP candidates as they campaign and debate hear PLENTY about the economy and homeland security.

I am not overy surpirsed that people who have absolutely no interest in voting for a GOP candidate, are not aware of what they are saying on the campaign trail.

I always come to Rdean's threads because he posts nothing but original thought.

He never wastes his or our time posting a few talking points that could be taught to be repeated by any run of the mill parrot that could be found at any pet store.

I enjoy the entertainment of reading how stupid people "think". Rdean provides that by the bucketload.
