Networks routinely cut theatritical movies to fit into their time schedules. The Trump scene in Home Alone 2 is a "cameo" - a chance to give Dumb Donald a paycheck. It doesn't advance the plot and has no relevance to the story. No loss. It's also entirely possible that the distributors cut the scene from the movie after Trump was elected.

Little known (apparently) fact: movie scenes are edited out of TV presentations all the time, usually to make the random running time work out to exact half-hour increments for scheduling.
